...get a reservation to Ohana?

We're locals and we've been trying to get a dinner reservation for three months solid now. It's slightly frustrating that Ohana NEVER seems to have availabilty. My husband wanted to take the family there for a birthday dinner next month and started calling in July for a reservation and absolutely nothing has been available.

Do I have to wake up at the crack of dawn 180 days from the day I want to eat there to call in and get a reservation? :confused3

In short, yes.

Those staying on site can actually start making their ressies 190 days in advance (using the 180+10 day rule). So, even then people could have starting making reservations 10 days before you. I know it stinks to plan so far in advance. Unfortunately, it has come to be a requirement at some of the more popular places. Keep trying as you may get lucky with a cancellation. Good luck.

I hear ya, and feel your pain! We have tried to get reservations there for about five trips. But, good news is, just keep trying...with the on-line system you can check whenever - people do cancel & change-up their reservations so tables open up. Also, it helps if you're flexible on what time you'll eat.

Also, does not always take calling in at 180 or 180+...I just got reservations (on a Saturday night, no less) at 'Ohana for November. This was at less than 90 days out.

I got up at the crack of dawn 180 day out to get our reservations sorry :sad2:

I figured as much. :sad2:

It just stinks that it's so incredibly difficult to get in there! It's been two years since we've gone because we can never get a reservation.

With ultrapopular restaurants like 'Ohana, locals and others who don't plan six months ahead are probably out of luck. This is one of the most voice complaints about the current state of Disney dining. Keep checking online for a reservation, maybe you will catch a cancellation. You can also try walking in when they open, maybe they can fit you in, but make sure you have an alternative plan in case they can't.

I called 180 days out over my lunch hour and was stuck with an 8:25 dinner ressie. Hope the 2 year old will either survive happily or just go to sleep.

When do u want a ressie and for how many ppl?
Check on the September cancelations board. People cancel allthe time

Unfortunately, yes..your best chance is at the 180 days mark.

But...to be honest, its not fantastic. Fairly good at best. Texas de Brazil in Orlando is quite similar and in my opinion, the food is better. Now if you want to engage in childrens coconut races, then yes, you will have to go to Ohana.

It just dawned on me that maybe your trying to go for breakfast. If so, scratch the above!

For our upcoming January trip, I made our reservation at the 180 day mark. 2 days later I attempted to move the reservation to another day, and there was nothing left for our entire stay. :sad2: I'm still checking every day to see if anything else opens up.

On a positive note, last year we booked our January 12 trip on December 31. I went online to book ADRs (less than two weeks out!). And what do you know, there was a 5PM ADR at 'Ohana for the day I wanted. Go figure!

If you have a specific date, keep checking online....you never know! If you just want to try it, I suggest booking the first available day. What are you doing in February? :rotfl2: I just checked and there are several dates/times available then. I'm sure they won't be there for long!

Good luck! :)

Well it seems like during free dining you certainly do!

I just checked and there's an opening for 2 people on February 14 :lovestruc at 9:05! Maybe you and dh could enjoy a nice Valentine dinner!

Try checking using the online reservation system.

You may get lucky! Also check the cancelled ADR thread for whichever month you want to go. There are often people posting cancellations for Ohana on there.

I second checking with the online reservation system. Also, I've found if I'm flexible in when I'm willing to eat, I can often find something.

For example, just the other day, we put in "dinner" and "4 people" for Christmas Day. We're well within the 180 day mark, but a ton of restaurant possibilities came up - including Ohana, which we ended up booking. It seems like putting in the meal looks through everything for the time that meal is served rather than the two hour or so window around a time.

Totally agree...would just subscribe to the cancellation board of the month, there was an Ohana cancellation in August and the poster could not find anyone who was interested in it! Being local you probably have much more flexibility than those of us who travel....I can only look for cancellations on the 7 days of our trip but you have most of the days available to you:)

You have to be very, very, very persistent in checking the on-line system for a cancellation. By persistent, I mean checking atleast 3 different times per day. This may give you some encouragement. I booked our trip last minute this past Sunday morning (August 14) for a trip in early September and started making ADR's that day. It is now Thursday night and I finally have all my ADR's complete. The reservations I was able to get by being persistent.....

Ohana for Late Dinner - not a great time, but I know I'm super lucky to have it
Le Cellier @ 6:00PM on my DH's Birthday!!!
Chef Mickey Dinner
Tusker House Breakfast
Coral Reef Lunch
Garden Grill Dinner
Crystal Palace Breakfast

Good Luck!

I feel super lucky to get what I got in 4 days....but I was super duper persistent. If this helps anyone, the Ohana and Le Cellier ADR's were found online late at night around 11:30pm.

As others have said, keep checking the ADR system! I just booked my Thanksgiving trip at the end of July and was able to get 'Ohana, but not as early as I would prefer (I'd like a 7:00 but got a 9:05).

I'm still trying to get Le Cellier.

Call the reservation line, if they are booked, call the restruant directly and see if they have any openings. Try this every day when they first open, often there are cancelations and the system is not updated until the next morning.
