Are there any others that are having a problem receiving their refund from the IRS?:confused3
I just found out (by 2 phone calls to IRS) why we didn't receive our tax return by today(March 1, 2011).
After 15 to 20 minutes on the phone with IRS I was informed that it seems to be a system error reguarding the form 5405. I was told that it doesn't look like I did anything wrong and that no letters have been mailed out to that effect. She said that this form (5405) caused a lot of problems for their system last year also and that I need to call back in 2 weeks on a Thursday or Friday as this is when they can tell me if a refund has been sent.

Ugh, wonder if thats what happened to my fed return. Already got my state return but not federal. Of course fed is the much higher amount. Hope they come thru quickly. Thanks for the info!

last year our tax preparer mixed up the numbers when he filled in the purchase price and taxes on my husbands new car. This held up his refund for almost a month. I got mine by the date I was told and his took another 3 weeks after that to show up in his bank account.

I filed on Feb 18th and my federal was in my account yesterday morning.
Now just waiting on the state

My refund date was Feb 25 but then got changed to March 8. So we are waiting and hoping. I filed Jan 22 but it had to wait until Feb 14 because we itemized.

We did our taxes last Monday and received our small refund in our account yesterday (one week)....I was really surprised.

We haven't done our taxes yet. Every year we either owe a small amount or get a small refund and we don't care either way.

We filed our Federal return electronically around Feb 12th (ish), got a refund deposit date of March 4 and our deposit showed up Feb 25 :thumbsup2.

I mistyped my SS number of all things. TT let me know it was rejected, took me less than 5 minutes to fix, and only delayed my refund by about a week. It just cleared my bank today as a matter of fact.

I just checked the IRS website and this is what it says now :(

We have received your tax return and it is being reviewed. You will receive a notice from us requesting additional information from you. When you receive the notice, please provide the requested information within 30 days. Our turn-around was 8 business days... and is already divided up into college and emergency funds.

I just checked for ours and the bad news is we used the wrong form. The good news is it's in our favor and we're getting almost 300 extra back :woohoo:. It said ours will be here within the next 2 weeks.

We do not efile or turbo tax (we can't), and last week when I checked on the IRS site, it said that due to processing delays it was expected to be refunded on march 30th. Not too happy about that, but not much I can do.

I filed on 2/16 and it was accepted. It said original that we will get our refund on the March 1 than last Friday it said that we will receive our refund on March 8. I justed check the WMR page after reading this page and it show that my refund should be deposited on Friday. No lets hope I see it

UP-DATE!!!

Called IRS this morning at 8am. I started the conversation by asking if form 5405 was the reason for my tax return being delayed. He said that it could be a factor but it could be other problems also at which time he took my information and ask if he could put me on hold. It took about 3 minutes and he was back on the phone with me. He said the system looked at returns that filed form 5405 and this could be the reason it was flaged but it could be another problem also. He wanted to know if I knew how much my repaymeny was and how much I was suppose to repay on my taxes. I let him know that I received a form from the IRS about the repayment and how much I was to repay on my taxes and to file from 5405. He then said that I could call back next Tuesday or Wendsday and they should have more information on my return. He told me that returns could take anywhere from 7 to 21 days to process and 21 days for me would be next Tuesday and that he saw no reason why I should not have my refund between then and next Friday (3-11).

I guess now it's just a waiting game before I can do my happy :dance3:
