Has your spouse ever said- this is our last WDW trip...

My husband does not like to do anything twice, thats his reason for not wanting to go back but for the last four years we have been going atleast twice a year. I just get all excited and make plans , I let my husband know what days he will need to get off work and we go!. he always has a good time once we get there. I think he worries about the expense but I am very thrifty and hey we only live once!

Dh didn't say no more forever, but he did start a couple of chants after our April 01 trip, "Disney Free until 2003", and "Disney no more until 2004". Well we didn't go to WDW until April 2003, but Nov 2001 we did a 4 night Disney cruise, July 2002 we went to Ca which included 5 night at DisneyLand, and in Nov 2002 we went to Disney Vacation Club in Hilton Head. We loved them all, and if we didn't have the Annual pass would probably go to HH again this Nov, but with the passes it's WDW.
My parents are moving to Hawaii :( soon and we need to rethink our vacations. If at all possible my plans will include 3 weeks for me and the girls there each year, 2 weeks for DH. And then a seperate 1 week vacation for the family until he starts getting more vacation time. Just hope it works our that way for us.

My DH has decided not to go again and he hasn't for quite a while now. I did get him to go to Disneyland because he likes California and I'm working on getting him interested in Universal and Disney restaurants. The thing is that he likes new things and good food so it may just work!

I'm so glad to see this thread!! Our last trip (Sept 2002) my DH said "no more for a few years"!! BUT, we are going back this Sept/Oct. It took alot of talking and he finally agreed. He loves Disney but he just thinks a vacation every year is just too much on the finances and he thinks that I'm a just a little too nutty over Disney. He doesnt want to talk about it all the time like I do!!

hello

ls1222- my husband is the same way!!- he says i am a nut case when it comes to Disney- (he may be right, lol)

its funny my DH and teen DS & DD really don't want to hear me talk about it anymore- even when i come up with an even better plan for touring etc... thank god for my little DS (4) he never, ever tires of talking about WDW- and we talk about all the rides he has been on, characters he met......

i had actually planned to take this trip with just my DS(4) and myself- when everyone found out i was really serious about going myself they suddenly all wanted to go- i would have gone without them- and taken a family camping trip later- i need my dose of WDW (lol)

but i did have to make a promise in order for DH to agree to this trip and i promised next year we would go somewhere else ........... we shall see ;)
  :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy:

If DW ever said this is our last trip, I would have to have her wisked away but those nice men in white coats. She would have to be suffereing from some sort of mental problem.:D

J/K Dear!

Oh I'm so sad!!!! I really don't know if I'll be going back to WDW for a few years. Both dh and I grew up with Disney since both our families went almost every year. We've been a few times together since getting married. This past year, we were actually VERY blessed and were able to go 3 times with our annual passes.

However, dh said that he is absolutely done with Disney for a few years. He said that he can practically recite some of the dialogue in the rides/shows. The money issue certainly doesn't help. Our friends/family are also telling us to broaden our horizons and go somewhere else. While I would like to travel to other places too, it makes me soooo sad to think we won't be going "home" for 5-10yrs. Dh doesn't like to hear any of my Disney talk anymore. If it weren't for the DIS, I don't know what I'd do! :(

I am so thankful that I found this thread! We returned from our 5th annual WDW trip, 2 weeks ago, and I have been going through serious "withdrawal" / post-WDW blues. Usually, I can get through the "just-returned-from-WDW-blues" by planning the following year's trip. But since I am going back to school full time in the fall and probably won't be working, we don't know if we'll be able to swing a WDW trip until I finish (or get a job), which could be a few years from now. As some of you have said, I talk about WDW all the time and hope that my DH will say "OK, we'll find a way to go", etc. I know that he is very attached to WDW, too (he proposed to me there, we honeymooned there, and we just celebrated our first wedding anniversary there), and would want to go back, but I know that he would like to travel to other places, too. People constantly say to us "Disney, AGAIN??" and try to convince us to vacation elsewhere. But there's no place like "home" and we always have such a special time, there. I know that DH is just thinking from a practical perspective, but I like to dream and think that we will find a way to go back in 2004, even for a few days! I know that he's sick of listening to me talk about WDW or ideas that I have for taking a less expensive vacation, there, but he "puts up with me" and kindly and patiently keeps saying ".....we'll see". I am inspired by all of your stories, where your DH's or DW's have said "this is the last time".........and then you wind up going back, again and again! I hope that that happens for us, too! :)

Don't worry, CJK - you may wind up going back to WDW sooner than you think! After reading some of the other posts on this thread, we have to believe that future trips are possible! :)

My DH used to say that at the end of every annual trip... but last year he comes skipping down the hallway and says "I just got off the phone with CRO, and we're going to AKL!". Then this April I have to go to LA for a business meeting, and DH says "Let's stay in Anaheim and go to DL"! So who is the Disney nut now? He's doing the planning! I'm sure we will take our annual trip this Nov for the F&W Fest!

...DH has said that since our first trip in '01 and we've been back twice since and going again in June '04.

I do think WDW is an addiction though. We've been back a little over a month and I'm already planning our next trip. I can't wait : )

;)

DW is a self-proclaimed non-Disney-fan. But she still likes going and she LOVES Old Key West, where we bought resale DVC points. In fact now she won't consider staying at BCV, BWV or WLV even though we have five kids to use the pools -- because she likes OKW so much. And she loves the resorts and NON-park activities and even likes some aspects of the parks especially Epcot.

But the thing that really brought her around is the good times we spend as a family there and the fact that there's something for everyone to enjoy. We now have enough Disney memories behind us that she has a fondness for the place.

The next project is my inlaws. It may never happen, but who knows. (Since my family practically grew up there, my side all loves DW.)

Pixie dust is a funny thing some time it works right away and other times it take repeat exposure before you get the Magic. With the above being said my DH had a blast on all of our trips and we are only going the 3rd time because my niece and nephew want to go and it will be awhile before we return. Then came our 4th trip of 5 days at disney during Xmas last year(cheaper to do a 10 day cruise and the days at disney than just the cruise at xmas time). Now i know the magic has fully taken when he said lets come back but before xmas for a less crowded vacation. This will be our longest trip yet at DW 7 days but then he said it would be nice to have some down time(now 10 days) and then we add and made it 14 days. Then i found out about Universal's shrek ride and we've ADDED ON(it now a dirty word in our house) to make a grand total of 17 night stay in Orlando. He then thinks we should wait awhile(at least a year to do other things)before going back. I've also told him there are rumors of alien encounter being revamped with a stitch theme(big stitch fan may even get a tatoo of him) it may be done sometime in 2004 and he said if that happens he will be planning our 6th Disney trip. Don't worry my family doesn't understand either but it doesn't keep them from giving me a list of things they want from Disney. So see it can happen just don't give up and if they don't get it runaway from home to DW for a solo vacation.
