Has your children's school been hit with the "Norovirus" yet?

We've had a slightly different virus going around this area. It starts off with a day or two of vomiting and other bathroom problems. It then moves on to a respiratory virus, with moderately high fevers. The second portion lasts for more than a week. My DD ended up with a sinus infection and viral hives. DS ended up with double ear infections (my friends DD got pneumonia). I'm just about over it, but I'm weak and fatigue easily. I really hope the Norwalk virus isn't heading our way. I don't think I can handle any more sickness for a while.

Poor 9 yr old woke up vomiting the night ( 1 am Friday) after her birthday and continued until about 8 pm the same day..long time to not be able to hold down even water....she still has diarheah.(sp) She seemed fine until tonight when the reah came back. I am guessing she will stay home tomorrow. Her brother came home early from a sleepover BD party last night at 1:30 am and kept throwing up until aobut 9 am today...he just had a few crackers and jello since the liquids stayed down. Now 2 others are complaining of tummy aches. I really need a night of sleep!!!! The 2 oldest are teens and I am waiting for it to hit them too. I hope we get it over with quick....leaving for Disney Cruise in 12 days..sailing in 14!!!! Whatever it is..it is NASTY!!! I have isolated teh sick ones and not let anyone else use the bathroom. This must be airborne since the others are catchign it so fast. We even had the well kids sleep in the basement playroom to be away from the sick ones....it is NOT WORKING this time!!!!!! Hubby felt dizzy all day. Help me.....it could be worse I guess.....Melissa

I ahve also used more bleach and lysol in the past day than I have used in 2 mos here..I inhaled the bleach fumes and my lungs now hurt......I would drink it if it would keep me from getting sick!!!!!!

It went around the robotics competition that I volunteered at (according to a good friend of mine who volunteered yesterday at it.) A couple of the teams had to pull out of the competition because of it and some kids ended up in the hospital b/c of dehydration.

DS had this a couple weeks ago. He spiked a fever out of nowhere, the diarreah started the next day. That lasted for about 4 days off and on, with some nausea tossed in to make the weekend a whole lot of fun.

DH caught it, but it escaped me this time around.

I had it last winter and it was not fun. But mine only lasted 24 hours; I went from wanting to die to feeling almost normal in the course of a day.
