Has Trader Sam’s demand died down?

I am going to find myself in MCO on Nov. 1 with some free time, and I plan on hitting MK. There is a MNSSHP that night, and I am not sure I want to buy a ticket for that, so I was thinking of skipping over to Trader Sam’s and visit for the first time.

I know TS was super-popular when it first opened, with people waiting in line as early as 3:00 for it to open at 4:00. Is that still the case?

Touring Plans lists the day, a Wednesday, as a “2” (out of 10) on their crowd calendar, so I am wondering if I need to still get there early to avoid a long wait in line, or if I’m OK heading over there a little before 7:00 when non-MNSSHP ticket-holders are (supposed) to vacate the park.

Thanks!

This past august my wife and i were able to get it right away. I think the demand is still there, but once you check it out once you realize that the Tambu Lounge is still the better place to hang out.

Adult children wanted to go a week ago Sunday. We had an ADR at 'Ohana for 7:35 p.m. We arrived at 6:00ish and the wait was 1.5 hours. They opted to wander the grounds and relive childhood memories instead. I agree with the poster above--we have been a couple of times, but the patio and Tambu are much better for hanging out.

I think the wait has been really long the last week or so because of the special edition cup. I think on a normal night, the wait isn't generally too bad especially if you are just one person looking for a spot. We were there two weeks ago and were able to get right in one evening about 7.

The new cup distro actually made it easier to get in over past years.

It is really luck. Sometimes it is hard. Sometimes not. And the factors are not wholly predictable.

Last time we went, we did the patio (Spikey pineapple!!) before Hallowishes, and then watched Hallowishes from the beach, and then went inside and got the last spots inside, hung out there with some locals for an hour or so and went back to the hotel :) People wanna see fireworks, so some might clear out at that time, if you can't get in before, pop in RIGHT after, there might be spots :)

My experience has been that week days aren't so bad. We also like watching the fireworks from the tiki terrace. They pipe the music in, and you get to enjoy a pretty good view while enjoying a tasty beverage.
