We started our Disney trips by staying at POR, then known as Dixie Landings. My kids loved it and it wasn't like they had anything to compare it to.

I think POFQ has even more kid-friendly look to it!

So far we've only stayed at moderates (POFQ twice and POR once) and both kids loved them. Lots of fun stuff for them to do

We're looking at the Contemporary or Poly next year just for easier transportation, but would definitely stay at a moderate again any day.

Everyone has a special place in their heart for their first resort. That said our first Family trip with our daughter was POR and we fell in love with the theming and the resort. You are able to use both pools at the POR and POFQ. We also stayed POFQ it is quaint and small but lovely also.

This is one of my favorite hotels on all the Disney Properties. We are DVC owners which I appreciate but I still miss staying at POFQ. My sisters love it when they bring their kids because it is so easy to get around especially with the food court and pool. Husband and I have even stopped and watched the evening movies outside in the courtyard. It is definately one of my nephews and nieces favorite place to stay in Disney since they were small, and now they are all in Jr High, highschool, college and marrried. It never grows old. Love the afternoon pool party too with kid games music etc. Just enjoy.
By the way there are things for adults to do too.

Didn't read the other replies...but we LOVE POFQ! DD has stayed there at age 4 and 5 and loved it! It reminds me of being in PRINCESS AND THE FROG! The southern feel...love love love it. DD, who is now 6, said to me this past weekend..."Mom. I wish we were at Disney swimming in the pool and eating beignets." And you can only find beignets (which are yummy) @ POFQ when at Disney!

You won't regret it! Enjoy!
