Saturday, I recieved a unpaid parking ticket final notice from Arlington Va. I live in Newport News and I have never been there. Now, I have personalized plates from August of last year, but kept my previous regular plates before the new plates. The ticket had my previous plate number on it.Well, let's just say I was upset. The day that the ticket was written, I was away and my ex-who is a little on the shady side knew I wouldn't be home and his ex girlfriend had DD for the weekend so she could play with her children. So, I called him and told him what was going on and told him if he did it to tell me-because once again he is shady-and he denied it. Well, I called the place today and spoke with a nice lady and told her that I had a ticket, but I had never been there and my car has different plates. Well, she looked it up and called me back, the DMV re issued my old plates-guess they make 2 pairs because I had the old ones and somehow the guy who has a toyota and I have a dodge, the final notice skipped him and came to me. But now everything is straightened out and I had to apologize to ex. The lady said that once there was a guy who lived here but moved to Florida and years after livign there got a parking ticket for his personalized plate that was in his garage in Florida that he origininally had when he lived here years before. SCARY!!!

Yup! I got a ticket in the mail from NYC stating I had been illegally parked in front of a fire hydrant.

My car at teh time was a red Plymouth. The car listed on the ticket was a silver Dodge. Not mine. I sent in a copy of my registration and a letter from my boss stating I had been working in Saratoga Springs at the time the ticket was written with the ticket and a letter telling them I wasn't paying it--not my car. Never heard back, so I'm assuming they dismissed it.

Been there done that. Back when I was in college I bought a used car from Hertz. Obviously it had been a rent car. What I did not know was that it had been a rent car right here in Houston and was rented out of Hobby airport. After I had owned the car about six months I get a letter from the City of Houston saying I had something like 20 unpaid parking tickets. My father open the mail that day and had not noticed it was addressed to me. After he read it he went through the roof and yelled at me for thirty minutes before I calmed him down and got a hold of the letter. I looked at the dates on the tickets and they were all for the period before I had ever bought the car. I got it fixed quickly by showing the city the bill of sale for a date after the tickets but I thought my father was going to have a heart attack that first day.
