Has this ever happened before when taking the boats in the Epcot Resort Area?

Last Monday night when I was going from the Boardwalk to Hollywood Studios I decided to take the boat. Anyway after we had left the Yacht Club/Beach Club boat dock going to the Swan/Dolphin boat dock something weird happened. The boat was about stop when another boat coming back from Hollywood Studios decided to stop before us, even though we got there first. The driver of our boat appologized and said we would be on our way in a few minutes because for whatever reason the boat already docked there was taking longer then usual and from what I saw some other people were getting a bit frustrated. So does anyone know what could have happened?

Perhaps a medical or other emergency on the 'other' boat.

Never happened; but sounds like a non event......if you're in a hurry those boats are not the way to go:banana:

Never saw that happen, but sounds like a non event...the boats are a nice, slow, relaxing way to get around....if you're in a hurry the boats are not the way to go........:cool1:

Agreed, unless a boat is right there or approaching the DHS dock as we exit DHS, a brisk walk beats the boat to either BoardWalk or the IG.

The same thing happened to us while we were there, and we were told by the captain that they have to keep a certain distance away from the docking/laoding area to make sure that the boat has enough room to turn around safely. But it seems that there may have been a medical issue that caused the other boat to proceed before you:confused3

They might have the "right of way" at that dock coming from the studios. It probably doesn't mean anything happened, it could be 100's of reasons why it took a little longer for the boat to be on it's way.

oh lord I hope no one ever questions the MK boat orders :lmao:

It could have been the pilot fixing the cycle and I would imagine they were in radio communication with the other boat to declare who was going first. Sometimes there are also unwritten rules about who gets priority. I could give all kinds of examples, but its a bit complicated for text.

More than likely not a big deal. The boats generally are pretty good about their schedules....not often do you see one boat standing there, while another boat is at the dock...at least not for an extended period. A few minutes sure, but not more than that.
Not more than a blip in the big picture.
