Has there been a change to the DDP?

Sorry if this question has been asked before but has the rule for the Member Disney Dining Plan changed recently as I’m now lead to believe that you don’t have to book the DDP for every night of your stay.

For example, if you make a resort reservation for a 10-night OKW stay you can book a 3-night DDP reservation starting on the second night and then a 2-night DDP reservation starting on the eighth night of your stay.

If so that’s great news……………

Yes, you can partition your reservation to do that. But the plan will still just cover the nights you book it. So you can't spread the dining credits out over ten days and only pay for three.

You will have to check out and check in again each time.

If you have to check out and check back in again, will you definitely keep the same room?

You are supposed to be able to keep the same room.

But if you didn't partition your reservation when you made it, you may have problems when you try to divide it up. I thought I read that MS is asking guests to partition it when they make it. Meaning you call in for the start of each segment.

You should be okay

I divided up an additonal day on a May trip on Friday. No trouble doing it.

I took last day of DDP, and cancelling Morn at Cape May .. saving 171$ for DDP. :woohoo: Instead .. ride Soaring 1 more time before flying home, and picking up something at Sunshines Terr. with cash.

Does the segmenting effect your mousekeeping schedule? If you have a 9 day stay and segment it into 3-3 day segments, will you never get a trash and towel or full cleaning?

Do you have to segment when you call in (say at the 7 or 11 month mark?)

What if you:

Call in at either 11 or 7 months out to get your accommodation reservations.
Call a 180 day mark for ADRs to see what's available on what days/nights.
Book ADRs.
Call to add DDP to selected days.
Pay for DDP.

Is this doable?

In theory it should not change mousekeeping .. but in Dec every night I "checked in" I got room cleaning. .. no idea if the glitch is fixed.

To book exactly at 11/7 mnth window you would book all the nights, and modify it after all days are in window. You could not segment at 11 month window as you wouldn't make the 11 month window say for the second half. (Maybe they will fix this too.. )
