changed any in the 4 years since my last cruise ? I hope so...
We had Miley Cyrus with that USA number and some other non-thrilling music.

What tunes are they crankin' nowadays?

not much in the way of responses....maybe I should have included the word "tipping" in the subject line?? :joker:

thank you michelle

I can't remember the songs, but I wish they would start playing "Burn Rubber" by Simon Joyner, that would be awesome! Sorry for not responding earlier.

MUN

PS, I actually like the Miley Cyrus song you mentioned.

No idea, we dont go to the sail away party. Hopefully someone on a recent cruise will be able to answer your question.

I think on the Magic it started off with Celebration. I would suggest you look up YouTube videos of sail away parties and see what's playing

In March we had much more current songs than Miley Cyrus. I definitely remember some pitbull songs

We watch the show part. That seems pretty standard to each class of ships and not changing. Are you talking about the dance party after?

yeah...the whole shebang. i had put together a cd with songs for the DGD before the cruise to get in the spirit. Now we have 4 DGChildren to inspire...The you tube idea is a good one, though.

Many thanx!!

To the left to the left. to the right to the right. to the front to the front, to the back to the back. and kick it and kick, and walk it all about and walk it about. That's all I remember from my last sail away party. Now Good Times Inc on the Magic has great tunes in the adult areas and Blame it on the Boogie is now our cruisin song it was played so much!.

wellll...i just can't understand Disney's continued connection to Michael Jackson....:eek:
that being said, that song is perfectly....ok. meh.
there are those who think DVD's are old fashioned. This song doesn't even qualify as a golden oldie since it peaked at 54 on the pop charts and received limited air play. Besides, I just plain don't like this version.

I wish I had taken notes during the Sailing Away party when I was on the Dream last fall, but I was too caught up in the moment. :) Going by my own memory and some research on the internet, I put together my own playlist to remind me of the party.
  • "Livin' La Vida Mickey," "Magic Carpet Ride," "Disney Mambo #5," and "La Bamba" from the CD "La Vida Mickey"
  • "Beyond the Sea" by Bobby Darin
  • "Dynamite" by Taio Cruz
  • "I Gotta Feeling" by The Black Eyed Peas
Add in the sound files for the DCL horns as posted in a ringtones message in this forum, and that is a good start on the Sailing Away party.

steviet: wow! soooooo many were being used 5 years ago on the Magic.....they update things much more often at wdw! While I like most of those songs, it seems that you want to keep your return passengers interested. I have read MANY posts on how people skip the party after the first time...I wouldn't, because it is a great part of the cruise to me, but it wouldn't hurt to freshen up a little, imnsho
