Has the "new and improved" bus system been fully deployed?

There has been a lot of talk in past months in regards to the bus system getting upgraded to include GPS tracking(or something like it), cameras at bus stations(to monitor crowd levels), etc...

Did this happen? Still in testing? Partial deployment? If so, any improvements?

The only difference I noticed 2 weeks ago was that there's a shpeel that plays while you're on the bus (similar to the monorail) telling you where you're going and about special events and such. They did have a portable screen next to them mounted to the dashboard. That could've been the GPS. Didn't notice a huge difference in response time so it's all probably still being tested.

We were just there 9/25-10/4. Something seems to be doing on with all of the transportation. This is our 9th trip, 2d one this year, and have to say the transportation was disappointing. The monorails were very slow, lots of wait time especially from Epcot, the busses had to make unscheduled stops where there were few pickups, we were the only 2 on a bus with a trip from BCV to AK, every parking lot had many empty busses sitting. One evening we had a Mears bus to take passengers from DD back to BCV . The ferry boats seemed to be working well and timely.

Short answer, No.

This is a major project. It has many parts and is being implimented in phases. Right now it is phase 2 and full implimentation is currently scheduled for sometime in December. That timetable is still flexible and may be delayed. Until all the technical issues have been resolved and the rest of the infrastructure is in place, it won't go into full useage.

System and resources are two different things.

At park closing, the most advanced system in teh world (or the World) may be calling for more buses but if there aren't any more buses, the system can't improve on wait times.

Meanwhile when it is not the rush hour, it does not take rocket science to dispatch buses from each origin according to schedules and timepoints and also make allowances for passenger load.
