Has the Lion King been out on DVD?

I was wondering if I had missed it or if it hasn't been on DVD yet?
If not, does anyone know when it might come out? We are expecting a baby boy a month from today and I was really wondering because I want the lithographs to go in his Lion King nursery.

It has not been on DVD, but will be avalible this time next year. It is one of those Platinum Series Disney Movies only put out once every 10 years.

Look for it at IMAX on Christmas Day.

Actually, I don't know if they are Dinsey approved DVDs but on ebay, there are DVDs of the Lion King available that supposedly play on US DVDs.

Personally, I would be too scared to buy them.

I have it on laser disc which is better than VHS at least.

We've been pre-ordering all the Disney movies through The Disney Store in order to get the lithographs. We just picked up Beauty and the Beast and pre-ordered Lilo and Stitch.

The Lion King will be next. It is coming to IMAX theaters soon and they will follow up by releasing it to DVD.
