Has the height restriction changed at Big Thunder?

So in talking with a neighbor who just returned last night from Disney world she mentioned that her youngest was turned away from Big thunder because the height requirement is now 44". This was very surprising to me and has me suspicious that they may have just been misinformed. {They were Disney World Newbies who fell for the trap of going on Stitch. }

I just checked the Disney page for it and it says 40 inches. It would be disappointing to me if that changed since DS makes 40 but not 44.

It was definitely still 40" last month. My younger kiddo would have been turned away had it been 44".

no because when she brought it up she said "The height is 44" now. Just like over at SPace Mt."

Maybe she was turned away from Expedition Everest at AK--which is the only other roller coaster (besides Space) with a 44" requirement.

Just the verification that I needed! Must have been some mis informed "know it all" type person.

I go to MK on Friday. If we make it over that way I'll verify and confirm. My strong feeling is that she is though.

My oldest is just barely 40 inches with shoes on and was able to ride BTMRR for the first time almost 3 weeks ago. I can't imagine any reason the height minimum would jump 4 inches unless the ride itself was completely changed. I'm thinking she was confused about which ride they were at.

That was my thought. I was curious how someone as uniformed to be tricked into Stitch not knowing what it was could catch a detail that epic without me hearing it first.
