Has the fine art of "resort hopping" returned?

The monorail resorts aren’t allowing mobile orders unless you are staying there. We stayed at GF last week and couldn’t even order from Kona Cafe. Even if I had booked a dining reservation I’m not sure how we would have gotten there with both the monorail and walkway closed. These were things that were available before we arrived because I had tested out mobile order.

Were you getting the popup that says it's for "XYZ resort guests only"? Or was it more than that and you couldn't actually place an order?

When we were there in May, the CR places (e.g., The Wave) had the popup saying it was only for guests of CR and BLT. We were staying in Poly and could place orders. But maybe that has changed.

I understand this is to prevent people wanting to park for MK because they placed an order at one of the CR restaurants... so I don't begrudge it. But at least in May, we could still place orders. And I'm sure we would have been denied parking, even with a placed order. Maybe now it's not even possible to place an order? Interesting.

And for future use (or others reading): The MK resorts can be hopped to by using the resort boat launches. GF to MK and then MK to Poly. Or you could monorail to TTC and then walk to Poly.

We were getting the pop up that it was for Poly guests only. I ended up not trying to even place an order because there was no easy way for us to get to the resort right next store with the walkway closed, the Poly monorail shut down, and the normally shared boats not running from GF to Poly. We were looking for another easy dinner or two and our options ended up being limited. Yes, we could have gone to MK and then got on another boat to Poly but that would have been a hassle compared to a quick walk from the GF villas which is what I was expecting.
