Has SW/Ding forgotten Raleigh?

I have watched DING fares from RDU to MCO for the past 6 months or so and it seems that, very recently-after jan.1, not only are the incredible Ding deals not there from Raleigh to Orlando but there are just fewer and fewer Dings at all from Raleigh to anywhere. And the ones that show up aren;t all that great. Is it just me being impatient or do y'all just suppose that everything our of Raleigh is already booked up for the window SW is using for Dings? Wish I had booked Feb. trip when I saw $65 round trip before the holidays! oh well...

There have been Dings for Raleigh since the first of the year. They were on Jan 1-2-3-5 and 8th. Are you subscribed to the thread that watches the history of the Dings? I agree, I think they have slowed, but it doesn't appear that they have stopped. You still get more than me from Louisville. I get one of them if I'm lucky once a month.

It does seem like RDU has been forgotten. I've noticed the higher ding fares and fewer offerings but I don't think it's just out of RDU. I guess gas prices are kicking in all over the place.

I almost booked the $65 fare but decided I didn't need to go in February. I really want to go in May/June. I'm hoping the fare sale & dings will rescue me as they have in the past.

The only good ding I have noticed out of raleight was a $36.00 each way that was posted earlier this month. The rest have been in the $69 - $76 range. We're not going until Sept and are debating between flying and driving. It is a 2 1/2 hour drive for us to RDU, as we are only 30 minutes from Charlotte (but who can afford to fly out of charlotte)? Especially since Independence folded.

Gosh..I didn't mean for my post to sound like WHINING...I really was just trying to set the stage for my question: For those of you who are DING experts, should I assume that if DINGS from RDU have slowed down, that means the flights are full?? I am assuming that's the deal...makes sense. If so, then I'll start looking for new dates for my trip or deals on Delta (not likely!)! Thanks to all who have replied...any others?

I didn't think you sounded like you were whining. I don't think the flights are full. They seem to have plenty of availability in Feb except over what I think is Presidents holiday (16th, 17th, 18th). I think we may still get DINGS but I'm not sure we'll get the $26 to $39 each way we've become used to getting.

My fare for May is almost $200. I'm used to getting my ticket for under $100. I'm going to keep watching and hoping things get sorted before I need to make final plans. It helps that I'm very flexible in dates.
