Last time I planned a Disney trip, Chefs was getting bad reviews so I canceled my reservation there and ended up booking Biergarten instead. Right now I have Le Cellier booked for lunch for my Epcot lunch. Now I'm thinking that I should switch to Chefs for dinner. These are my reasons:

(1) We are traveling with a 6 year old, a 4 year old and a baby. I hear Le Cellier is crowded.

(2) I would prefer to do dinner TS at Epcot and try a few CS at lunch, but can't do Le Cellier at dinner because it will be a signature meal and we already have a signature meal booked at CRT.

We definitely want a nice meal at Epcot - we're already doing Biergarten the night we arrive because it is so much fun. It's a must return for boht of us. We've done Coral Reef - DH wants to go back, but I want to try something new. We've also done Rose and Crown, which we both liked, but isn't a must return for either of us.

Les Chefs is my favorite TS in all of Disney, I have never had a bad meal there. I am not sure of any more bad reviews then any other restraurant at Disney. almost everywhere has both good and bad reviews.

Personally, I love it, but you should look at the menu and be willing to try new types of food.

It's probably been close to a year since we ate at Les Chefs and it was good then, probably the best I've seen it. All the restaurants change the menu some every time they get a new executive chef so it's difficult to say how they are right now. Le Cellier is always a good choice and if you like that, you might like the Rose and Crown.

I ate at Chefs several times as a young girl waaaaaaaay back in the 80's. :scared1: I had two amazing experiences and a dish that involved grouper and egg noodles and some sort of sauce that I have never forgotten. We also had waiters who went out of their way to move curtains around position me so that I could watch Illuminations from the table.

I should also mention that while I am hardly a food snob, I appreciate good food and fresh ingredients. And I love, true French food, particularly the less fussy, more bistro things.

Having said all of that, when my husband and I went this past February (my first trip back in over twenty years) to say I was dissapointed is the understatement of the year. The place was so busy, I felt like we were part of a cattle call. Our serve wasn't exactly rude, but I did feel he was a little condescending. For appetizers, I had the escargot, which was delicious, but I'm not sure you can mess up something basically involves a ton of butter, parsley, and garlic. My husband had the Alsatian tart which bore an uncanny resemblance to the frozen tart we buy at Trader Joe's. So, it was good, but nothing great. Our entrees were when we entered the truly unforgiveable part of the meal. My husband was served a very lackluster steak. I order the short ribs, which were served over a glommed together ball of fettucine and included mushrooms that were obviously canned. No. No. I will give my waiter his due, as he noticed I wasn't eating and he came and offered to replace my meal for me. At that point, I was just looking to be fed and went with what was probably the safest choice: the macaroni and cheese. It was OK...lacked the great cheesy taste I'm used to in my homemade, more sophisticated, multiple cheese mac and cheese dishes.

Dessert was good...but we could have had just as good a dessert at the patisserie around the corner.

So I say SKIP IT! We had a great meal at Tutto, btw.

We went this past Sunday. It was one of the worst meals I have ever had. The filet gristly, veggies way off, creme brulee missing something. And I love this restaurant. Last year was wonderful, as was 20 years ago. Teppan Edo was great. You might try that instead.

I like Les Chefs de France but see no reason to rush back. I struggle to even explain my reasoning. I love the setting and found no real problems with the food, but I definitely don't remember it as spectacular. Honestly, everything just seemed pretty average and unmemorable.

That said, I find myself saying that about most of the World Showcase restaurants, so perhaps I should not pass judgment.

We go every trip and we love it.We have yet to have a bad meal there. If you are looking for less crowded, this isn't much better than Le Cellier though. Most disney restaurants PACK em in tightly

Was just there in May and like all other times... it was great!! I always get the onion soup and the filet! The filet always melts in my mouth! YUMMY!! :thumbsup2

Love them for lunch, have little desire to go back for dinner.

We ate there on out Honeymoon in 2006-

I really thought it was one of the best meals of the week - everything was cooked to perfection - our glasses were never empty - and the Creme Brulee was absolutely the perfect consistency - and not TOO sweet. I think at that time it was a citrus creme - really amazing.

However - having zero experience with french cuisine, my wife hated it. She hated the appetizer - and looked forward to the entree - she hated the entree and looked forward to Dessert - She hated dessert and looked forward to something to snack on later! :lmao:

Plus the waiter kept winking at her ;););)

and the retired couple next to us... after finding out we were on our honeymoon decided to share with us their thoughts on Creme Brulee as an aphrodisiac :lmao:

:rotfl:

:rotfl2:

My wife is a little shy and backwards - so that just sent her over the edge!

She has vowed that we will never go back LOL But I think I might be able to persuade her otherwise!

Wish me luck!

I don't think one is less crowded than the other. Almost all EPCOT restaurants are crowded.

Just there after labor day and it was GREAT!! we were there to see Remy for my 2 year old
it was actually better than i remember

maybe it helped that our Waiter (Lidio) was awesome!
The couple next to us were AP's and there a few times a year and told us they always ask for him... we got lucky he was great!!

and so was the escargot!!!!
