For those of you who've just gotten back, has it been cool/cold at night. Should I pack a sweatshirt for next week? Or buy one there? :goodvibes

In my numerous summer trips to DLR we have never come close to needing a sweatshirt. We did not even bring them on our day trip a couple weeks ago. We arrived at 7:15AM and left at midnight and no one was cold.

If you are packing and have room, I would bring one and leave it in your car or hotel just in case. That would be for the 0.01% chance you would need it. If you are tight on space you do not need it for DLR. If you go closer to the coast you may need sweatshirts in the evening as it does cool down at the beaches a little more than it does at DLR which is maybe 10 miles inland. :)

I live here...

The past few days, it HAS been much cooler than normal for this time of year.

Yesterday's high was 75. Today's high is supposed to be 76.

The mornings, up until about 10am have been overcast and chilly. The temperature in the EARLY mornings is CHILLY (for us So. Cal people). I wore jeans and a light sweater this morning to take my son to school. At 10am, the temperature was still only 67 degrees, although the sun was starting to come out.

Yesterday, my son and I went to Disneyland in the early morning. I was wearing a t-shirt and capri pants. I was FREEZING! I wish I had worn a sweater...I did not start feeling warm until close to 10:45am.

Similarly, once the sun sets, it gets VERY cool (low 60's). If you are planning late nights, you will need something.

Maybe not a SWEATshirt, but at least a lightweight hoodie or similar, or some thin long sleeved shirts to wear over t-shirts (think: layers that can be removed and stashed in a backpack, that AREN'T bulky).

We just came back on Sunday and I was fine :) but I enjoy cooler mornings and evenings. :) I did see quite a few people wearing sweatshirts in the evenings. :goodvibes it couldn't hurt to bring one though :)

being an OC resident, i can tell you its been surprisingly cooler this last week. Normally this is t-shirt an short season for me. But last night i actually wore my sweatshirt, and it was only 7pm.

And i normally like cool weather.

I used to think it was a myth that people's "blood thickened" and "they got used to cold weather". But after 28 years in SoCal and then five in Ohio and 13 in Colorado I am a believer. Kids here wear shorts to school when it is in the 40's and sometimes 30's. When I see 67 degrees at DLR I think "perfect tee-shirt weather". When we went to DLR for a few November days we brought sweatshirt/hoodies for the evening but never put them on. So I guess the advice to the OP is "it may feel cold to you based on where you are from - and how long you have lived there". :goodvibes

When my blood was thinner and I lived in SoCal I suspect 67 degrees would have felt colder than it does to me now. :)

Absolutely true! The other day I was cleaning my car out in the morning and thought to myself 'it's not too bad/hot out here!' It was 93 degrees! :rotfl: That felt down right frigid after 120!

I will be taking a jacket with me for just that reason. :thumbsup2

I agree with above posters... depends on where you are from. I went to DL with my DB last July and needed a hoodie starting when the sun went down. I was shivering waiting for the late showing of Fantasmic. HOWEVER I am from the desert and we had just had a week of temps in the 110s to 115s!!! :goodvibes

We had 54 degree weather all week here! and it got down to record lows of 34 degree's so to me hitting the parks at 70's and night temps of 60's will feel wonderful . just like heaven :lmao:

Thanks for all the posts. I checked the forecast for next week and the evening temps gave me a step back. 59-65? Hmm, I'm a Midwest gal so I'm thinkin' no sweatshirt is okay. Yes, thick blood is true, I wash my car outside when it reaches 45 in March. :scared1: Crazy I know.
