Has it been awhile since you stayed at your Home Resort?

We stayed at BLT in January, and that was the only time we didn't stay at a home resort this year. Last home stay was early this month, BCV (VB before that)!

Since we rotate resorts & stay somewhere different for each trip it's been awhile (since May 2009).

Just got me thinking that it has been 6 years since I have stayed at my home resort. How about you?

It took us 5 and half years to get to our home resort (May 2004 purchase; Dec 2009 first visit) ... but we'll be back for our next visit in Oct. Only 10 months between visits to the home resort!

FWIW, we have other timeshare we've never visited in 8 years of ownership. It was bought to trade and that is how we use it.

We always go to SSR the last time was in May. We have done a couple of split stays but always end up at home.

I personally have only stayed at SSR two nights when the last two Grandstand buildings opened. Was that 2007? But my oldest son, his girl friend, and two friends who now live in FL stayed in Congress Park for four nights in May 2010.

We often stay at AKL -- last time concierge in May, and we're booked there in a value studio for May 2011.

We also have plans to use SSR points for a THV either in Nov/Dec 2011 to host our DD and her in-laws. They just have to decide which month they want.

We're staying BLT in Oct 2010, so we will have visited all the East Coast DVCs!

We are still fairly new to the system and still checking out the different resorts. We were at AKV-Jambo last August which is our home resort. We are at BCV/BWV for our upcomming trip and tried VWL for our trip last November. We stayed at OKW on our first DVC trip. So, we only have BLT and SSR to try in Orlando when we get around to it.

We will probably go back to AKV when we decide on another trip so we can try Kidani.

We own at VWL, AKV and HHI. We have typically been staying once a year at HHI and once or twice a year at a WDW resort - usually VWL or AKV but also at SSR and BWV. We've about decided though to start going to WDW every other year and HHI every year. The years we don't go to WDW we're going to stay at HHI twice.

We're similar to WolfpakFan, but we're staying at HHI twice next year, and it's one of our homes. We own points at HHI, OKW, and BCV. Usually we go to each of the 3 locations once a year, for a total of 3 DVC trips. In the past, our anniversary trip has always been to OKW in late April. However, next year our anniversary happens to be Easter Sunday, a VERY busy (and extra-high DVC point time)atWDW, so next year we'll hopefully celebrate our anniversary at HHI. And BCV is for the F&W.

I own at BWV because I love the resort. You'd have to drag me kicking and screaming away from my home resort. I did stay at OKW prior to buying DVC, but now that I own, I don't stay anywhere besides BWV.

That's the way me and DH feel. However, we went with friends in January to AKV at Jambo and went with my sister to BCV in July.

Plus our very last trip to BWV was so completely magical with lots of birthday wishes.

I am so ready to go back home!!

Well, though I love OKW I haven't stayed there much. Unfortunately even though it seems to often gea a bad rap, it's always booked. I've changed my last 3 OKW reservations to add a studio for friends or to add a day and since I detest split stays I've ended up at SSR. It's all good though as long as I'm at Disney! In fact changed my res. today so I'm back at SSR! I won't personally see the OKW refurb till ?

I'm very similar to eporter. I bought in 05 at SSR and shortly did an add on there. At that time, SSR was the only new resort, and I did not know we could buy at others, either through Disney or resale. My first use was a big family trip in a 2Br and S at SSR in '06. That's the only time we stayed there. No issues -- we just wanted to try the other resorts. Since then, we've done BCV several times, BWV, VWL and Kidani. We liked Kidani so much, we added on 50 just to make sure we have 150 points every three years. We generally prefer the hotel-like resorts, rather than the condo set up of SSR. We also avoid peak seasons, so we have never had problems reserving at 7 months. With that said, I am happy to stay at SSR but basically consider it a fall-back. For example, I have AKV Concierge for 2 nights and SSR GV for two nights next March. I will try to modify to an AKV GV at 7 months, but if that doesn't work out, I will very much look forward to the GV at SSR.

Now that's a thought!! We love AKV, but have no problem staying at SSR if that is what is available. If I were to add points now, I would look for an AKV contract. Funny, but we like all the resorts for different reasons :

AKV - Love the rooms, animals, and theme
VWL - Our favorite theme
BCV/BWV - Location, SAB pool
BLT - Location, on monorail


We do want to hit all the WDW DVC resorts, so we have a few left to get to.

Haven't stayed at Boarkwalk since 2007. Since then we've stayed at OKW and will soon be staying at AKV (for the first time). After our next trip we'll have stayed at BWV (home), SSR, OKW and AKV.

Really wanted to stay a WLV this coming trip (or BLT) but they weren't available. Our choices were SSR, AKV or OKW (if we'd changed our dates). Definitely looking forward to our next trip as well as finally returning home in October 2011 - it will have been 4 years.

I am like you...I can stay at any DVC resort and have a nice time. Sure we have our faves but everyone of them has something appealing.

We have not stayed at our home resort yet. We bought @ BLT last year, but stayed HHI this year. We have a trip planned for BLT next year. We can't wait.

We always stay at our home resorts....we love staying there and that is why we own there!

Our June 2010 trip to VGC was the first time we used our points other than home resort. Due to some extenuating circumstances, our plans changed last minute so we couldn't get our free flights to WDW. We are so glad we tried VGC - loved it!
