sorry to say, but harder to get a room at a good rate, AP passes more expensive. I think the days of 3 or 4 times a year are over.what do you think?

Our rates are actually really good for hotels since HP.

We got RP in June for $129, $139 in August and have it booked for $189 during Family Day week. Those rates are just as low if not lower than we have had before.

For the amount I spend in rate increase for my AP, I am getting a lot more park...I have no complaints.

I just look at Disney and see how far that amount would take me there.

Actually I think it helps overall. Sure peak times $ is high but otherwise not too bad.

i clicked on this thread because my overwhelming response was to say 'yes', as i've been wondering that myself--and i've never even BEEN to universal! we're going in may, and i've followed all of the 'guidelines' for getting a good rate--and we're still paying $258/night. you can no longer find the hotels on hotwire (for a reasonable price--PBH for around $280/night) or on expedia--i'm thinking now that they are wildly popular (due to a certain wand-wielding, scarf-wearing young wizard), deals are harder to come by. however, i also agree with what has been said above--for the level of hotel, you'd be paying more than that WITH a discount at disney. that's actually how we ended up booking a universal trip--my husband briefly took over the planning and saw how very much it would cost to stay at, say, the yacht and beach club...and then he booked a room at PBH! here's hoping it is worth it!

I just rec'd an email pin code for now thru March 10th, rates $119 Sun-Thurs, Fri-Sat $139 for Royal Pacific. Don't lose hope on great rates just yet.

The prices for spring break weeks are high(er) but summer rates are reasonable.

:sad1: Universal(or Loews) does'nt like me.They never send me any PIN codes for special rates ever..

I will always say that Orlando hotel rates are unique in that though you can get some good deals, just knowing American travel plans doesn't work here.

the British and Brazilian travel seasons are different then ours so the timeframes for getting great rates is limited. It can be done but certainly at US the wand wielding dude has changed everything here!!

If you can travel off season I would highly recommend it!!

Check the Loews website directly for some deals and good luck!!!
