Mom and I had been fans of Frito-Lay chips and I would like to know if anyone has noticed that Frito-Lay chips has changed their flavor? Take for instance when my mother and I ate Lay's Potato Chips I noticed they were lacking flavor and my mother noticed the same thing too. And when you buy the Baken-Ets Pork Skins you'll notice that the pork skins lack salt and since then we have tried alternate brands of pork skins since. And if you buy Ruffles and Fritos corn chips they too lack flavor as well. Is Frito-Lay trying to give their chips a better flavor or are they changing their image? What brands of chips do you recommend as an alternative to Frito-Lay?

I just had some Lays regular potato chips they are by far and why my favorite potato chips and I can tell you they did not taste right I thought maybe they were a little stale but that wasn’t it Quite frankly I did not enjoy them at all So I don’t know what they’ve done but they’ve done something Now they have a recall on them because they have milk in them but I’m not allergic to milk and I don’t think milk would’ve made them taste that different🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤔🤔 but these to me we’re almost done edible I mean they weren’t that bad they just weren’t that good I ended up throwing a half a bag away I just was not interested in eating them they were very bland flat tasting and not enjoyable at all so I agree I think they’ve done something I just don’t know what it is and they need to stop doing it or maybe it’s a good thing they did it because I’ll stop eating them🤣🤣

Sounds very disappointing. These companies have so many chemicals in foods now I can't enjoy most things without a chemical aftertaste. I saw a story about how the potatoes are grown to be so big and there are lots of chemicals involved that need to be rinsed so that may ruin the taste, I look for the little NON-GMO stamp for better taste. Personally, I have always liked Wise or Cape Cod, they . My favorite lately are the Kettle Brand because they have an unsalted chip I like for low sodium but you may not like the lack of salt.

I thought it was just me and my taste buds. I bought a bag of Lays chips the other day and they tasted 'off'. I filed a complaint on their website and then threw the bag away. I don't eat them often but I had a craving. I guess it might be a good thing, I probably won't get a craving for them again.

Well, to be honest, I have NEVER encountered a Frito Lay product that lacked salt. Salt is what they add to cover up the lack of flavor. But we rarely buy any, we got a snack sized bag of Lays potato chips and they were pure salt. But that is likely us, since we normally buy Kettle Chips unsalted potato chips. We like potato chips to taste like potato.

I've actually blamed my taste buds on several food items.

We’ve been buying Wise chips recently. We like the taste better than Lays. Lays seemed to get stale quickly & the oil when not fresh was bothering me. No issues with Wise so far.

I'll bite...(see what I did there...)

Rob who?
Oh my....no wonder 🤔 🤔 🤔 🧐 we're a divided nation...we no longer all watch antenna TV. 😃😃😃😃😃....Sam is such a great guy that he has a gig commercial selling veterans credit union business... but Rob is only a NFL veteran... not a military 🪖 🪖 service family like Sam....and.. I do so much want to quote the Wendy's commercial ... I'm a friendly guy...so will let someone else quote the Wendy's commercial

OP: We just bought the regular flavor Lay's potato chips and they were just fine. They were salty and tasted like they always do. They are our favorite chips. I wonder if this is a regional thing?
I just know that ours taste like they always did.
