Has Disney Ever Changed Its Mind?

In light of the recent events at PI, especially with the true sadness over the closing of the AC. I have a question.

I see rumblings of petitions, e-mails and letter writing campaigns on all the boards. I even e-mailed Disney myself, but will it matter?:confused3

It didn't help VMK or lower stroller prices.

My question is, can you think of anything that Disney has changed its mind about once it has officially announced it? Any venue or attraction that it hasn't closed once they said they would. Any policy change reversed?

I hope that somebody with a better memory than I can think of something, anything to give us reason to have some glimmer of hope.

I am sure some where thru out Disney's history they have changed their minds. In this case I would say not.
PI just does not make the dollars that keep them happy.
Bottom line is the final say in a corporate world.

they took away figment and then after guest outrage they put him back in. That's all I can think of atm

Several years ago they officially announced a new DVC resort, Eagle Pines I think, but they never built it.

I can't think of anything except Figment either.

I wouldn't hold out much hope for P.I. -- strike that, I wouldn't hold out
ANY hope...Disney has decided they can make alot more money taking that area into another direction...probably something like City Walk and that's what they are going to do.

The big one I remember is when Disney took away EMH's and had the characters come to the resorts.

There was such an huge outcry on this, that they reinstated them!

I didn't think it would work, but it did.

I can think of one big one.

One year they stopped doing extra magic hours, and people just HATED it! It did drop their hotel takings a lot, but it was the mixture of both money and protest that brought it back!
