Has DCL done away with isolating in one area of the ship?

You realize that things are changing on the ships on a daily basis AFTER the ships sail. Sorry, totally unreasonable to expect someone who is in a call center to have all the information, things are changing too quickly.
The OP stated twice it was a written/e-mail to DCL, not a call center human.

Yes, times are changing and the scripted response is probably set in stone for every question. The Mouse doesn't say much.

This is why such forum are invaluable. You get feedback from people who are on the ground and can report back. Kinda like how I also know that if anyone is sailing on the Princess Grand, the Aloha deck is where they have isolation cabins. I am glad I kept up on all this because the idea of isolating in a cabin with a balcony sounds a lot better than inside or OV. So we were considering paying 2 grand more on a sailing so we had that. Then I learned if we had paid to upgrade and needed to isolate, then we'd be moved anyways.. The only situation where it would have helped us is if the entire ship were on lockdown etc..

Yes, I saw and I think that is one in the same.
Agree, it's all just customer service.

"Plan Disney" (formerly known as "disney mom's panel") was also in writing, searchable to anyone on the internet, and flat out wrong a good chunk of the time.

I'll believe it if it is on the DCL website because that is centrally managed, reviewed by the people who actually are involved in making the policy, and likely a team of lawyers too. But if you are talking to an individual customer service rep, whether on the phone or via email or via chat, there is not a lot of quality control or training to back up what they are saying.

So I wanted to book the same cabin or similar we had on a previous cruise on deck 5 - with the extended verandah. I wonder if this is why they were all unavailable?

I suspect this is another case of phone cast members not knowing how things are working in practice on the ships. They can’t have people isolate in balcony rooms as the isolation rooms need to be negatively pressured (where air is drawn in from the hallway when the door is open, not infected air being released into the hall).
I wonder why people who test positive on other cruise lines are in balcony rooms, then? 🤔

we were on the dream for new years and the state room hallway door was closed right after the kids club on deck 5 , you could not get to aft elevators that way

Well, this post, mmouse37 on post #26, and the OP, indicate it's not necessarily the case of a CM not knowing.
I think this theory has some merit and since it's critical in my decision as to whether to cancel or not our upcoming WBPC, I volunteer to email DCL about it as well, and will report here when I get feedback.

It would be game changing if they'd let ppl quarantine on deck 5 verandah SRs.
To us, this would be the green light to continue with our plans and not cancel. I was 99% inclined to cancel our upcoming WBPC if that 2nd deck quarantine guideline was absolutely strict and set in stone.

If you get quarantined, are you able to order the same room service food as offered in your original cabin or will it be something different.
Not that I would want to eat my way through a quarantined situation, but....... I would also not want to live on premade sandwiches', etc.
I'm just considering all options. I'm thinking about going on my first solo cruise.

There was a poster here about a month ago who had to quarantine because his kid was exposed to another kid that had tested positive. He said that the cast members brought them food from the MDRs and stuff for dinner.

Well, I enquired about this with DCL via email today, asking if they could say what decks are set aside as areas for potential quarantine... I asked specifically if deck 2 or deck 5 or both... they responded and the answer was... a bureaucratic word salad taken from the pages of the cdc... a non answer, no mention of what deck or type of SR will be dedicated to quarantine... it's very frustrating that they insist on keeping customers in the dark about a very important issue, literally passengers and families' health and sanitary conditions.

They don't know. The person you called was in the dark too. And one of the biggest lessons of the restart is things change and sometimes on a moments notice.

we discovered last October on the wonder that deck 2 was the quarantine deck. As we walked the ship, saw no one on deck 2 but it was open to walk through. i do not think anyone was quarantined on our cruise.

You don't think they know what deck is set aside for potentially quarantining people? Of course they do.

I think DCL has Plan A, Plan B and Plan C -- possibly more. But they aren't releasing details of those plans because...the details could change. You are asking them for written confirmation of plans now that you can expect to be in place a couple of months from now. Too many variables in what may change. Even if they confirmed rooms on those decks are set aside for quarantine, that doesn't mean who gets assigned to which quarantine location. Deck 5 might be "overflow" and only used if the rooms on deck 2 are full.
