How did it go - any pics?

I tried to post this but nothing happened so this may be a dup!

I am curious as well. What a dream for some little girl. Very sweet.

What exactly is this? I have been reading the boards off and on lately- don't have a trip planned until next year. Could someone explain what this is?

A Little Girl's Dream to Come True Daily in October as Magic Kingdom
Salutes Cinderella Honorary Princess of the Day

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- What little girl hasn't dreamt of waving to an adoring audience from a seat within Cinderella's crystal coach?

For 31 little girls -- one each day in October -- it will be more than a dream as Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom recognizes the first-time DVD release of the motion picture "Cinderella" with Cinderella Honorary Princess of the Day.

Each day, an honorary princess will be chosen and will receive a Cinderella gown and tiara for the special occasion -- a ride in Cinderella's horse-drawn coach ahead of the 3 p.m. parade in an honorary princess procession. She will be accompanied by banner carriers, coachmen and Cinderella's adorable mice, Suzy and Perla.

The honorary princess will also be invited to a private meeting with Cinderella herself. And, of course, she will receive a copy of "Cinderella" on DVD.

"Cinderella" goes on sale Oct. 4 as a Buena Vista Home Entertainment two-disc Platinum Edition digitally restored DVD with bonus features and enhanced picture and sound. Unavailable in any form for almost 10 years, "Cinderella" is the sixth release in Disney's celebrated "Platinum Edition" line. Among the bonuses: an all-new DVD-ROM feature, "The Royal Life," which allows participants to scan their picture and become part of a fairy tale world that they can create.

Thanks for the info! WOW- how cool!!! My dd would just flip!!! Too bad we aren't going in Oct. this year.. oh well. How cool for some lucky little girls!

oh my lord I wish it could be me! My twins could not stand it if one of them was chosen and not the other. I could never let it happen. But I wanna, ME me me!

I was thinking the exact same thing. Hope they make sure to choose only children...how sad if one sibling was picked and not the other!!

I'm betting they pick kids who appear to not have any siblings with them so that they don't disappoint others.

I have to disagree and I personally hope they don't do this. My dd would love this and if she were picked I am sure her sister would be very happy for her. Why should she be denied the chance because she has a sister?

Just hoping they pick at random, and looking forward to reports. We will be at MK on Thursday so who knows?

I agree that they may gear it toward only children...I hope most siblings would be happy but do you want to take a chance....

maybe they have thought of that and have something planned for the other child?

Darnit all anyway, another "I wish I had a daughter post". Four boys to this Disney Princess loving mom! I think that is a wonderful thing to happen to any little girl.

Not all sisters, cousins, friends would be happy for the child picked. I'm sure in most families, there would be an awful lot of tears and hurt feelings.

Wouldn't it be nice if they picked both a Cinderella and a Prince Charming? That way boys would also be able to take part.

oh that would be so cool to have a charming too!!

I hope a DIS'ers child gets picked so we can all hear about it!

As the mother of all boys, I don't think this would be a big deal for any of them. They consider the prince/princess thing to be a "girlie" thing and they wouldn't want any part of it. Now if it was hanging with the power rangers - THAT would be a completely different story.

I'd like to think they'd be sensitive to siblings of an age likely to take it the wrong way, but one of my most un-Disney moments took place in Disney Quest when after the Pirates ride a CM walked right up to a family with two little girls and gave ONE of them a magic moment whatever it's called certificate. I was amazed that anybody working there could be so insensitive. Are the certificates so priceless that he couldn't give two? Or if they are, he couldn't have waited for a single child or a child with older or much younger siblings?

Uggh! I can't even give one of my girls a paltry piece of candy without giving the other one the same thing. Anything done for one has to be done for the other one when it comes to my girls, they would have fits if one of them recieved such special treatment and the other one was left out.

There may be some special children out there who could handle it but I know my girls and they would not be at all happy.

right now my youngest princess - almost 8 months - wouldn't realize it but I am sure as she gets older I will have to do the same for both!

DH & I only have one child; a DD so bring it on! ;)
But, alas, we aren't going this October. :sad2:

This reminds me of that Full House episode where Stephanie is crowned princess for the day at WDW and her older sister DJ gets upset.

PERSONALLY I WOULD LIKE TO BE THE CINDERELLA PRINCESS for a day.. oh yeah this is only open to children :(
