had a surprise bday party for your dh after they said they did not want one? My dh is turning 40 next month and I have been planning a catered clambake for 40 people as a surprise party for him. He told me a couple of times that he did not want any type of party or surprise party and did not want me to spend a lot of money on his bday. I have been planning this since April and I really want it to be a special memory for him, but now I am getting worried that he will be mad and upset that I had the party when he said he did not want one.
I have put a lot of time (and $$) into the planning and all the decorations. He is a wonderful husband and all around great guy and was so supportive of me and my mom during her terminal illness. I just wanted to do something to make him feel special, but I just don't know how well he will handle the "surprise" aspect of the whole thing.
Anyone have any experience with a situation like this.
