Has anyone (women) decided to pack 1 outfit/color?

Seriously thinking of packing only black t-shirts and tan/khaki or white bottoms for our upcoming 9 day trip. I stayed to almost the same colors for our trip to Italy this past Fall and it worked really well.

I may go more extreme and buy a few identical pairs of capris/shorts and shirts.

I used to pack all sorts of clothes and matching accessories. In the end, I almost always want to wear a black top and it was just TOO MUCH stuff.

If anyone has done this, are you bothered by being in the same outfit in all of the pictures?

It's in the 80s there now. Depending on when you are going it's going to be hot, black is not the best choice, esp if you are going April/May which it looks like from your siggie line. It'll be 80s/poss 90s then.

I am good with the black top in the tropical summer. Uncomfortable, generally, with the light colors on top because of the dirt, makeup, ice cream and the fact that I am Snow White-white 365 days of the year.

I am at the point where I have about 6 pair of white capris and one pair of denim capris that I take to WDW, along with a white sweater and a white microfiber jacket. I then have a group of what I call "nicer tops" and then "park tops" that I pack. All go well with the capris. I focus on blues and pinks for the tops. It makes it really easy both to pack and to decide what to wear. Unless it is dead summer, I wear jeans on the plane. If we happen to be staying in a 1BR DVC, then I go home with everything washed and repacked in my packing cubes. Then it is easy for my next trip. Just throw the packing cubes back in my suitcase and go.

I cheat, though. We have an Owner's Locker with stuff like laundry detergent in it. I'm older, have no kids, and go to WDW 5-7 times a year--depending on how stressful work is. This is a "merger" year at work, so I might surpass the 7 trips this year. It's early March, and I've already been twice.

Personally, it would annoy me to be in the same outfit for every picture (but I don't care what other people do). But I do understand the problem of having to pack too much stuff. I compromise by bringing mostly all light khaki colored shorts (with maybe 1 pair of black and 1 pair of blue) and then I bring solid colored shirts in various colors that can usually be worn with khaki, blue, or black shorts. And I super simplify my accessories. I wear diamond stud earrings and a simple diamond pendant necklace all week. They go with *everything*. I usually bring one simple bracelet watch but since the introduction of magic bands, I rarely wear a watch at Disney because I don't like a bunch of jewelry on my arm.

Love everything about this reply except the work-stress you are enduring and I totally get it.

3 in one year is the most I have done. We also have DVC - usually 2 bed with guests so we also come back with almost all clean clothes. I will confess to being a bit crazed about doing laundry; favorite chore anyway.

I also bring a light weight sweater (black LOL) and a Chicos "dressy" zippy (black)

Don't get to go enough or consistently - sometimes we will skip a year - to justify the OL cost. Trip to Wal-Mart or Target between airport and check-in every single trip for full sized shampoo, laundry detergent, bleach, plastic cups, beer/wine and room snacks.

Thank you for the considerate reply. I hope your work gets better or you win the lottery!

Have the Android watch now - can't see how I can possibly wear both on the same arm but I will want to.

I have long hair so it will be silver or gold hoops for me. Goes with everything! If this trip were during the cooler months, I could change out scarves. Wait - maybe I will bring 9 different pairs of earrings to change up the pictures! Thank you for the idea!

The only thing that is consistent about what I wear is my jewelry, simple gold necklace & earrings. I do bring a long necklace & fancier earrings in gold for nights out.

I like clothes color diversity...bright color tops, whites & blue jean shorts & skorts. Add in a few dressier outfits (either tops or dress) with a lightweight jacket and I am good to go! Packing cubes make my packing extremely easy!

My DH is a fan of the cubes. I don't get their value but he sure does!

I felt the same way...didn't see myself using them whatsoever. Bought my daughter some because when we travel she is one of those people whose suitcase EXPLODES all over. Then tried them. Ok..sold. I love that I put tops in one...bottoms in another..etc. really makes it easy to find things and not turn my luggage crazy when locating things.

I say rock what works for you! Took me a lifetime of Disney vacations to finally get my wardrobe down to a backpack size cuz I always end up wearing the same few items that I love and am comfortable in, plus we always have a washer/dryer in our rooms. The amount of clothes that went unused was ridiculous and I learned that the most when I was backpacking around Italy...lesson forever learned!! Same few similar outfits, minimal different jewelry/accessories, done :D Then again I am not a huge fan of having my picture taken and when I do I'm usually doing something ridiculously silly or absurd so no one's ever paying attention to my outfit..I also don't care what people think of my vacation outfits :rotfl:

and the fact that I am Snow White-white 365 days of the year.

Personally, I try to avoid dark colors in general during the summer months as I am (as a co-worker once described) "fish-belly white". Seriously, I can get a sunburn going through the drive-thru.

I have to agree with everyone that has said go with what you are comfortable in. :thumbsup2

I have a simple wardrobe of only blue, black, or grey clothes. Packing is easy. :goodvibes

Navy - I can't do the other blues. Denim, of course the exception. Adding in Olive and beige/white and we are at the same place. Donated many things purging my wardrobe. Makes shopping easier, too. My Disney stuff and other park clothes still have color but not for long!

Hmmmm since we fly in and only take carry-on to WDW, this is a no-brainer for me. I pack 2 changes of clothing, rolled up super tight in Ziplocs and realized that was just right, considering I was doing laundry in-suite and hanging it each night....

I don't wear jewelry aside from my wedding band anyhow.
I have a pair of cargo pants with water-resistant fabric and a million pockets. And one Aristocats t-shirt. :D
I bring extra undies cuz those are always the ONE item that doesn't dry overnight and can't be worn damp. If my cargo pants aren't fully dry yet, they sure will be by the time we actually get to the gates!
Occasionally have been known to wear the swim suit underneath - especially if the day is going to include Splash Mountain.

I always pack this way. It is so much simpler to pack and to dress when you get there. You don't need the same outfit for every picture, just change your top each day and slacks/shorts. I always take denim and pack colored tops, denim shoes, purse, etc. It really works for me. I'm all for making packing easier and getting dressed each day less of a challenge and chore:)

Sunscreen every day since I was 12 years old! It's the secret that explains a mom telling her 20 something daughter to ask me for advice on her upcoming surgery and the after effects because we are the 'same age'. I was the same age as the mom! And getting carded in liquor stores until 45.

Thanks for the support - I am now well on my way to a very simple packing experience.

I've started to take stretchy black and navy capris and then wear flared cotton dresses over top. (Like the Star Wars Rogue one by her universe) They take up so little room in the suitcase and actually feel lighter and more comfortable on in the heat. Plus they're way more figure flattering too and I feel a little more dressed up.

This is where it breaks down for me - I find myself 'saving' my favorite shirt(s) - which are usually the black ones inthe pile - and then I break down and wear them - only to wash them (laundry in room) and start the ridiculous process all over again.

I stopped taking a second (or 3rd or 4th) purse ~ 4 years ago. sllllloooowwww packing learner. I've also given up the dream that the once in a lifetime Queen of England; make it or break it career opportunity; whatever invitation is going to happen and I will not be prepared so no more just in case formal attire.

Love this! Thank you for sharing. Will have to Google Star Wars Rogue - hated the original back in the 70s (don't tell anyone)
