I just booked tickets on United Airlines for my Sept. trip, when I called the airlines and asked them about my DD(3 years old) bag allowance, they told me that her car seat and stroller would count as her 2 checked bags which doesn't leave her any bags left for her clothes. I asked about gate checking the stroller and they told me that they don't do that or if I did it it would still count towards her 2 bag allowance. I was wondering if anyone has flown with United before with a baby or toddler? I have called United several times and I keep getting different answers every time I call which is starting to get me really frustrated and mad, and also very confused!!!!!::mad:

I am flying in 4 weeks to WDW and using AA which allows my DD 2 checked bags plus her stroller and car seat. The reason I booked my Sept. flight with United was a price difference of almost $400 which will almost pay for my room for 5 nights at All Star Music.

Any help would be appreciated!! Who know flying with a toddler could get so complicated?

Thanks!!!:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Yes it will count against your baggage allowance. Is everyone in your party using up their 2 bag allowance? If not, the stroller could be your second bag or someone's second bag. A party of 4 is allowed 8 total checked bags, though I would never want to be hauling that much stuff around the airport.

Have a good trip.

United exempts the following personal items from the one piece limit:

Child safety seats for ticketed children

So if you bought her a ticket and she'll be sitting the the car seat, it doesn't count toward her allowance. If you're bringing it just for use in your rental car or car service vehicle, yes it counts.

also please be aware that United does NOT preboard children with families. They preboard elite members and those who require extra assistance.

In MSY last week my colleague and I were shoved aside by a family with children who were angry that they could not preboard before elite members

strollers as battering rams!

Actually, I am used to male elites pushing females out of the way ;) but to have a family charge their stroller at us was different...
