Has anyone used their original wedding dress . . .

at their vow renewal? I was looking at my wedding pix and I don't think my dress looks dated. I had the official cleaning and boxing of it, so it should be okay.

Any thoughts? Yes, no? Why did you go with a different dress if you did? Thanks!

That's a great idea! Maybe you could get it changed a bit to maybe modernize it more and still wear it. If I had fit into my mom's dress I would have totally worn it with a few changes.

I think that would be a wonderful idea. Or like girli565 maybe you could change the original dress a bit to update it - so it looks new - but it is still your dress. Either way - I think it is a lovely idea.

I think this is a lovely idea!!
I have a new dress for my VR next May but only because
A) I hired my wedding dress
B) I didn't really have what I wanted on my original wedding day and was determined to have my dream dress this time!!!

I plan on using my original dress and making alterations to it. My original dress was made for me by my aunt. I have recently lost a lot of weight and I want a royal or cathedral length detachable train added to my original dress. I think this will give it a more princess feel. With my original dress I had a long veil that was my train. This time I would like to have a mid length mantilla veil instead of the long veil. This will probably save some money instead of buying a new dress and accessories. Plus I have never seen anyone in my exact dress. It may be because it is a mix of three dresses. Plus, because I have lost over 100 lbs since my first wedding I think I will look better this time around in my dress.
