Has anyone used the online check in?

If I booked the trip through AAA do I have to have my travel agent check us in online? And when do you do this? I arrive on a Saturday and don't think my agent works on Saturdays.

My TA sent me a link to use and you have to get your actual Disney confirmation from them and then it will work. I have signed in several times just to look at my reservation.

I'd like to do the online but we're at POP and requested a king. I didn't know if doing this online would jeopardize that request.

It will probably have a better chance of running smoothly if there aren't any "special" requests....I'd have to have a fridge for medical purposes...If there isn't a place on line to check that (at no extra charge at Pop Century) then, we'd have to stand in line and check in there...

I checked in online for Pop last weekend and there was a box already checked for a king under the requests for us. I honestly don't recall if it was something that I selected when I made the reservation or if the CM somehow did it when I called last week to enter our request of "king bed close to parking". We'd actually love a parking lot view because we never look out our window and always drive ourselves everywhere and would love to have a short walk to/from the parking lot.

Our 10 day mark is next Monday and I plan to do the online check-in. Anything to save time. Staying at the All Star Sports Resort, we'd like to get into the Touchdown Building and will make that request, however, as we're getting in town fairly early (plane lands at 9:13am), we'd be satisfied if we just got into a room upon arrival.

Keeping my fingers crossed but not real hopeful because it appears to be a busy time that we're going (June 19-29).

I don't think you'll be able to make a request for a specific building with online check-in. There are just specific options to click a check-box for depending on the resort. If you want to request a specific building, I'd recommend calling and making the request.

i just finished online check in. I called in my refridgerator request for medical purposes yesterday, it showed up when i did online check in.

So perhaps at my 10 day mark BEFORE doing the online check-in, I should call in to request a specific building? Then when that notation is made, do the online check-in and it MAY show up when I do the online check-in?

My son (age 12) and his cousin who we're bringing with us (age 12) are football NUTS. It'd be really nice to get into that building. Again, if we don't, we could always walk over for picture ops but it'd be nice to stay in that building.

I am willing to sarcifice particular building, however, if a room happens to be available when we arrive that is not in that building.

I'm trying to decipher everyone's posts, but am still a little unclear.

If I made special requests when I originally booked my ressie, will those be honored with online check-in?

We always make special requests for medical reasons and sometimes still have to request a different room when we get there because they don't pay attention.

Am I just asking for trouble if I do the online check-in?

The idea of my room being ready for me sure sounds great, and I'd love to try it out!!!

I have been trying all morning to do online check in. I used The Magic for Less Travel, so waiting for my TA to get back with me. We arrive Sunday and hopefully can get this done so we can get to the parks faster. This is my kids first trip in 4.5 years, we are all chomping at the bit to get to the parks.

My 10 day mark is Saturday. I had the same delema because I requested the Samoa in the Poly when I made my reservations. I just got off phone with CM at travel and she told me that if you make the requst to them on them phone and they will make note of it. CMs at hotel will see the note and do there best to fill it whether you check in on line or not.

I used on line check in May for Beach Club Villas. I would not recommend it. I'd rather banter with the person at the check in counter for the room I want and am willing to wait for. I just accepted on-line check in and had a room overlooking a roadway. We were only there for 4 nights, so I let it go, but I know from experience that when you chit chat with the cast member at the check in desk, and if you are willing to hit the parks and wait, you can usually get what you want.

I thought even if you do the online check-in, you still have to get in line at the hotel front desk to get your tickets and stuff. I would think (hope) at that time you have the opportunity to see if a particular building/room is available???

I'm not really stressed about it at all and plan to do the online check-in just because it appears as though it'll save time. So regardless if certain requests are filled or not, I still plan to try it out.

If you check in on line you will not have to wait in the normal check in line. From what I have been told by the CMs, there is a separate line in your resort for on line check in. You are handed a envelope that contains keys, room number and other info.

I think that if you arive early it may be worth it to wait your place in line, then make special requests and see what happens.

In our case, we arrive later in the day, arrive at the airport at 4:20pm. We will have less options as far as rooms available. So I see it to my advantage to do early check in.

Just completed mine a few minutes ago. Fairly simple to go through as long as you have your confirmation number. As PP mentioned, the only request is fridge and Pack & Play. I'm still going to fax a room request on Monday - nothing all that special, just a comparitively quiet room.

How many days out is Monday for you? Our 10 day mark is Monday where I will do the online check-in. I have the resort fax number and I'm wondering how many days out I should send my request prior to leaving but after I do the online check-in. How many days out are you faxing your request prior to arrival? I'm just going to put a preference for the Touchdown or Hoops building and that's it. If we get one of them, that's great. If not, we won't lose sleep over it.

The confirmation # you got from your travel agent is not the confirmation # that they got from Disney...your TA will give you that so you can check in online.

I did my online check-in this morning and it was a breeze. I noticed the only special requests you can make are (1) for a fridge and (2) for a play pin item. So I may wait until Monday of next week to call or fax a request for a certain building. But it really was simple.
