Has anyone used the National Carlson Code lately?

I know the Carlson code is supposed to only be for travel agents, and Mary doesn't have it posted on her website any longer. But the rate is SO much lower than any other rate for Christmas week, that I was thinking of trying to use it anyway.

Has anyone used it recently and if so, were you asked for any type of ID?

I was a little leary of this myself. So, we booked National yesterday using the Amex code and got the same rate as the Carlson code for 12/23 to 1/2/06.

What rate did you get, and from which place (airport, Car Center, etc.) - have current National res for those dates for intermediate car from Car Center for $ 250. incl tax, etc. Just want to compare.....

Used Amex code & Entertainment coupon.

You say you booked with the Amex code. Have you used this before? Do they ask you for your Amex card?

I have an EA membership so we would prefer to book the ressie in my name, but I do not have an Amex card. My DH has an Amex card but does not have an EA membership. I suppose we could forego EA, but I usually do the driving since I know my way around the best.

Should I make the ressie in my name withe the Amex code?

No, you don't just type in AMEX, you will need the code #s.

I have a current ressie with National using the Carlson code. I am not afraid to use it. However, with my luck traveling lately something will happen.

I thought that you needed an AmEx card in order to use the AmEx code? Not to book it, but to show at check out.

I have a reservation with National EA for October using the Priceless code. I'd also like to know if anyone has used it lately.

I used it in May with no problem. With that code & the $20 entertainment coupon, it came to $97 for a week for full size!

I already have a good rate with the Priceless Code and the Entertainment Coupon but I decided to just check out the Carlson Code and it was a lot higher for my dates in September.....I will stick with what I have i guess..

Can someone PM me with the Carson code? I have never used it -- heck, I have never rented a car. We usually drive, but got cheap airline tickets. But these rentals sure are not cheap..

I used it the first week of Aug no problem. Used it with the $20 off ent coupon. Saved a ton!! I'm going to use it again in Dec.
