Has anyone used the Key West Ballroom?

Just wanted to add a few photos I took of the Key West Room last month...

Beautiful reception photos Claire! I have seen some brides use this room for getting ready in, and Im going to have a big bridal party so I thought it might be a good idea! Does anyone know if there are any food and bev min when using the room for this purpose? If so what they are? Thanks!
Marissa

LOL Pixie - I guess you could use the notebooks for playing hangman, pictionary, X's and O's while you wait for dinner :rotfl:
Thanks for the pics Lurkyloo, it's true that it gives a good idea of the room size.
Thanks to everyone for helping me out with this :cheer2:

Only white table cloths are free so you would have to pay for that table cloth.

Claire,
Here I am again with more questions!!
Did you get to choose the napkin fold and plates and were these extra?
How does the bar service work? I don't see a bar so I guess that the servers take orders and then go and get the drinks.
Did you have wine service or just the bar?
What did you actually have to eat and did you have to choose the same thing for all your guests?
Did you have some kind of pre-reception whilst you had photos taken for your guests and was this drinks and fruit etc in the same room or elsewhere?
Sorry for all the questions and thanks for all your help!!!

Did you get to choose the napkin fold and plates and were these extra? No I didn't pick them and no they didn't cost extra.

I told Disney in advance that we wanted red and white wine and soft drinks and we estimated how much we would drink. I thought after the wedding we would total up how much we did have but that hasn't happened.
What did you actually have to eat and did you have to choose the same thing for all your guests?
We had Mickey shaped chicken & cheese quesadilla to start, then ceasar salad, Beef Filet with red wine demi, Wedding cake with ice cream, and the slipper sorbet, yes everyone had the same.

We were an escape wedding so we extended the cake & champagne reception you get with an escape which is when they had the fruit and we had photos taken then. It was at Commanders Terrece at the GF

SEriously...what is it going to cost for that???

It varies on the type of table cloth. I think it was about $20 per cloth for the cheapest and you need at least 3 but I may be completely wrong on that.

Thanks Chilly,
All of your information has been a great help - it saves me from calling my planner with every single question :rotfl2:
I think the table cloth and plates look great - so now I know not to budget for anything different then what they supply (other than the chair covers). I'm hoping to use some floral from the WP brought over to the KWR and not need additional floral.
It's so hard to balance having things nice, but not being too cheap!

No problem happy to help in any way I can.

I like the look of the Whitehall Room for our reception....ummm....DF is not so sure and is concerned as we have some picky eaters and a 9 and 6 year old both of the children are picky eaters too. He thinks that a restaurant will be better as they can pick from a range of foods. :confused3

I would think a venue like the Whitehall room might be better since you can completely customize the menu. You can even ask for the kitchen to recreate your favorite items from Disney restaurants. I have even heard of people giving the kitchen their own recipe. The menus that Disney gives you are really just guidelines. Another option could be to do a buffet instead of a plated meal, this way there are lots of choices and someone is bound to find something they like.

I would also say, in terms of venue to pick what you like and what will make your day special to you. The restaurants at Disney are beautiful and have great food, so I don't think you'd go wrong if you went that route, but if you'd prefer the Whitehall room or something like that you should go for it. ;)

The kids don't have to have the same as the adults. I don't even think all the adults have to have the same meal.

I know there is one child's menu and it is chicken fingers with veggies and something else that I can't think of right now.
The meal is the same for everyone - however, my DF and I wanted to serve steak but not all of our guests are red meat eaters, so our planner checked and we were told we could choose one other meal (we chose the chicken), and when we send in all our forms we need to state the numbers.
So for example ours is:
- 4 child meals
- 10 steak
- 3 chicken
Then we are serving our wedding cake with a scoop of ice cream for everyone. :goodvibes
