Has Anyone Used THE CODE today??

Just curious if anyone has called today and been able to book anything with a general code? What's Disney's story today?? I did call yesterday and I do not have a PIN. The very nice CM said it was a general code, but only applied to packages. I'm a room only kind of person, so I did not inquire further. Anyway, just wondering---

I called today for Sept. 15-22 price quote at POP with hoppers, no dining and it came to 1154.72. Without the code/promo it was $1510. With dining added to the promo it came out to be 1777.51. Free dining would be even better and I asked about that - she said yes, there is a very good POSSIBILITY that the free dining will come out, and then came back later and said but I can't guarantee it. It seems like someone may have heard her in the background and told her to correct herself because that was a few minutes later when we were talking about something completely different.

ETA - I only told her that I had heard of some general codes that began with ABD and ABE if that helps. I forgot to ask if a pin was attached to my name but I have not gotten anything in the mail. She seemed kind of shocked at my quote and told me this is a very good deal. Maybe they are trained to say that though, LOL.

Here is my experience calling 2x today that I posted on the other thread about pin confusion- only mentioned XXX code which people are saying is a general public code...Neither CM I spoke with asked if I had an email pin associated with the code:

First Call:
ok, so I got caught up in all this and called for 11-5 to 11-12.
7 nights at AKL pool view bunk beds using the XXX code...2A 2C - (14 and 15)..
Very nice CM tells me that the code is a great discount and applies it with no problem. I had first asked for room only, but he said that code applies to pkg only. We add dining and 1 Day MYW base ticket...
He quotes me $3864.16 again saying that this is a great discount...

Since I had checked my numbers before I called I realized that this is no discount at all - exactly what I would get booking on-line with no code..

Oh well! I may try different dates since I realized the dates I asked for were outside the dates on the email.

Just thought I would share my experience. Back to the drawing board!


Second Call:
I call back to switch ressie to dates within email 11-1 to 11-7 instead of 11-5 to 11-12 with my XXX code...(Dates ranged from Oct 21 to Nov 3rd among others on the email.)

Now, I'm told the code is only good for April to June???!! This really is getting frustrating....Will try again - calling CRO is like putting a quarter in the slot machine and pulling the lever.

OT, but I do sometimes wonder if they keep a file on us like the Seinfeld episode with Elaine and the doctor chart - one doctor wrote difficult and she couldn't get another doctor to treat her because they all had access to that chart- another reason to always be sweet as pie when calling CRO!

I did and it saved me $391.50!! I called and had no code just told the CM it was my understanding there was a code out there. She reviewed a few codes and found one that worked for us! Does not hurt to call and talk to them!

I think there may be a code but I was told it was attached to my name. I'm not familiar with codes so I didn't book it right away. I want to talk it over with DH first.

I was quoted a very good -- no, great price yesterday -- decided to "sleep on it" for some stupid reason -- called back today to book and it no longer exists. It was 40% off the room with or without a package. I've called a couple more times today, and no one seems to know what code the CM used to get me that rate. I am so frustrated! Yesterday, the CM said if I arrived on 6/3/07, she could use this code. But today they don't know what that CM was talking about.

I got the thing in the mail, about the 40% off and choose your hat with a code in yellow. I called and they couldn't find the code with my name. They said my name was in the system 3 different times, spelled different ways and non had a code. Then she went ahead and made the reservation for me and told me it had the code applied. I'm getting ready to go online and price it to see if it is a deal. I would like to get a quote for another time of the year, but that one took me 45 mins. I may for the first time in my life put this in the hands of a travel agent. All the different messages that everyone is getting is making my head hurt. The quote by the way was for 4 nights, 5 day hoppers with dining, Feb 28-March 4 for $1700 at All Star Movies. Is that good?

I would like to book a package -- what is the discount?

When I called both people I spoke with said that it didn't give specifics, just that it was a package discount. I know that on another thread people have said that it is better than free dining. the second person I spoke to said that it is too entice people to come at slower times. That worried me because I thought that I was going during a slow time (mid-August)

Actually we know what we're talking about.

People are receiving pin codes for 40% off room only bookings.
There's also a 3 letter code out there that is a package deal, but works out to be 40% off room rate, rack rate for everything else.
The confusion is that CMs are telling people very different stories. Some CMs are telling people that the three letter code can only be used by the people who have the 40% room only pin codes...it's the upsell code to make their room only into a package. However, other CMs are telling people that you don't need the pin code attached, it's a general code, but it must be a package deal...no room only bookings.
The confusion is that we don't know who to believe and whether or not Disney will cancel the ressies made by people who used the three letter code but did not actually have a pin code.

OK Since your in the know HELP!

I have a Room only 40% off PIN that is good for certain dates. OF which I am NOT traveling.

I also know of the "code" at least I think I do because that code (which begins and ends with the same letter) could be applied to my dates (may 7-12). However, the prices she gave me did not seem like a deal at all. Also, she did say that this code was for a package only and would NOT let me only buy a one day ticket (we already have tickets) so of course my package price it higher than I want.

So I want to know if

A) I have the code everyone is talking about that is a general public 40% off room or package and if so would that be good for a May date. (JUST to clarify I DO not want the upgraded base to hopper to water park deal which is the general code for April to Jun)

B)How in the world do people get a CM to just LOOK for a code for them!!! UGH!

more than likely you have a code that sounds similar but is actually the current spring general public code for free hopper/wp upgrades..not room discount, no ticket length discount just the free upgrade.
