HAs anyone used TaxAct online?

I use...

http://turbotax.intuit.com/taxfreedom/

I have used this for my 23 yr old son for a couple years, easy, direct deposit- and yes FREE for some states. FED file costs, but here is a link for a 25% off discount anyone can use... see "visitor entry" it's 11.70 for the EZ form. Plus no downloads!! Use it and come and go as you please. You can try it and not buy it too!! I love Turbotax, been doing our for years- direct deposit within 3-7 days too!

taxact seems to charge to efile either. State is free with Turbotax!!

About to start doing my taxes and I heard this was free.

We have used it for the past few years with no problems. It has always been free for us to e-file federal. Our money will be deposited next week while we are at Disney. Our state taxes have a fee so we use the info. and plug it into the state's own e-file.

I used Turbo Tax on Saturday it took me literally 10 minutes it was so easy to use..I haven't used Tax Act but free beats the $65 I paid to use Turbo Tax as long as it is reliable as others have said :thumbsup2

I have used it the last 2 years. Very easy to use. It cost to do the state tax but federal was free and that was to e-file too.

I have used TurboTax for years (10+) but the $65 that I paid for state and federal was stupid expensive. I'm going to have to look at a competing product next year. I love the ease of TurboTax, but our taxes aren't that hard. I can literally figure out our state taxes on the back of an envelope and to pay $35 for the privilege of filing those....:crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2:

What drives me batty is that if I file my state taxes by mail, the state takes 4 months to process them. :snail: :snail: :snail:

Not sure if it is still available, but if you have any products at all (auto, homeowners, life, banking, etc) with State Farm, the first 10k people can file their taxes through Turbo Tax for free (deluxe version - state and federal, itemized). I signed up 2 weeks ago; the option to file free is still on their website. State Farm does this every year for their customers but does not advertise it so there may still be a chance to file free if you are a customer.

I've used Tax Act before. It's ok. I think electronic filing should always be free.

I've used it for the past several years. It only costs money if you use some of the more advanced features, which you probably won't even need. (I pay like $12 or something, so that it automatically imports my previous year's data, etc)

I've used it the past 2 or 3 years. Very happy and will use it again this year.

I used Tax Act for the past couple of years. Easy to use. You do have to pay to file state. I already filed and got state refund back. Yeah.

I used Taxact this afternoon to file mine after reading about it here.

It cost 13.95 to fill my Kentucky State Taxs but Federal was free. It also found me $400 more than TurboTax did.
