They're supposed to be really great for keeping cool, and since I'll be going in August that'll be essential.
Has anyone had any luck buying them in the UK? I've googled, but they're expensive on amazon compared to in the US.

Are they the rain coat things?

Edit - just seen they seem to sell a cooling cloth type thing! I've only ever seen the rain coats over here. Seems like a good idea - the mist spray cooling fans don't do much for me. I just go from being hot to hot and wet which isn't much fun!

Yea they're the cloths. There's a thread on the theme park & attractions board about them. A lot of Americans have bought theirs at Walmart for under $10 it seems.

I ordered some on Friday from here. The price wasn't *that* bad compared to other places I have seen. It looks like they will show up in the post tomorrow.

As a geek I am quite interested to see exactly how they work and how well they work.

Thanks for the link!
The only size option I'm getting is "one size". Wonder if that's the larger one that you could cut in half?

ooh, they sound interesting. I've never heard of them before. I am going to add that to my Walmart shopping list. Not going to need them in November but really interested in seeing what they are like.:thumbsup2

If you have room for 2 in your luggage, I'd pay you to post me them :D ha x

Frogg Toggs are very popular with motorcyclist. They are awesome. If ordered from the frogg toggs rain gear web site there are many size and color options for adults and kids.
Many motorcycle gear shops carry a basic black or neon color in basic S-XL sizes and sell them as a set.

I'll have to check that out, thankyou!

Hello Folks I have a Frogg Togg and love it. It stays nice and cold for 4 hours. I carry mine in a gallon size ziplock bag to keep it from getting things wet.
Once it is no longer cold simply rewet the towel and it will get cold again.

The one in the picture in the link mentioned by PP is 14 inches X 24 inches. I am not sure about cutting it in half. Not sure if there is a chemical inside that makes it cold that would leak out.

Anyway wanted to mention for those of you who will be purchasing these during your trip to Walmart that you will find them in the camping section of the store and the price is $12.00.

So my frogg toggs chilly pads turned up today and the things are huge, I think the official site has them at 33" by 13" which in proper terms is about 80cm x 30cm.

There seems to be no real magic to them. it feels a bit like a chamois leather but a little sponge like as well. I think the way I am going to end up using my one is to cut a space for my neck and have it over my shoulders under a t-shirt. There are no gels or chemicals that that can leak out the whole process works with evaporation of the water.

You feel a tiny bit damp with it in contact with your skin but my t-shirt over the top is dry as a bone and it does cool. On a hot day I can see this being a big help.

I hope this helps someone, just so you have the link again I got mine from here int he UK and took 4 days (including the weekend) to turn up..

Thanks for the review! I'm definitely going to order a couple closer to the time :)
