:wave2: Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone has used Emily at Charming Events to decorate their wedding venue? I looked at her website yesterday and she has some beautiful designs.

We have switched our location from YC Gazebo to Seabreeze Point at 5:00pmand from reading the boards WDW Florist can be expensive. I don't want to go overboard, just keep it simple. I do love the ideas of the rose petals scattered, rose petal cones in a basket, and tulle around the entrance and behind us to blow in the breeze. I was told by my coordinator that SBP it a difficult place to light/keep lit a Unity Candle, so she also suggested a Sand Ceremony.

I was curious whether it is a tremendous savings to use an outside vendor and since it is not Disney decorating, who is responsible for clean up/removal of the items?

Also, does the Boardwalk Inn Catering decorate the cake table or should I arrange floral for the cake table as well?

Sorry for the 100 questions!! Thanks :grouphug:

I think KT27 did. She wrote about it in another thread. Maybe she'll check in today...

Yes I did! Emily was AMAZING to work with. Her ideas were awesome!

Shed did petal cones, a rose petal aisle, tulle draping and a few arrangements. Most everything was then transferred to our reception at Ariel's.

Here are some pics:

In answer to your question Yes for me it was cheaper, I had an exact idea of what I wanted and how I wanted it to be and Emily came in much cheaper.

Emily & her girls came in & set up before the ceremony at SBP, then afterwards moved all of the items to Ariel's for the reception. I hardly even noticed they were there as I was having pics taken. They cleaned up Sea Breeze Point. She also provided my table linens, chair covers & sashes. she removed everything after the reception. She only books 1 wedding a day so you do have her full attention.

I was married in a courthouse ceremony in feb a few months before our May wedding. We married in Fla while planning our Disney Wedding. Emily also provided us with my bouquet & dh's bout for the courthouse. I was thrilled my Mom & Sis set this up. I loved the fact I got to meet her in person before the actual wedding.

My EM also told us to keep a candle lit at SBP would be hard. We decided against having anything. A sand ceremony or rose ceremony would be a great alternative.

I had my floral moved to the cake table and we used bouquets to decorate.

I made my own ceterpieces. I bought candle holders for floating candles, mirrored tiles, crystal marbles and tealight holders. Emily then scattered petals around. This saved us alot. I shipped everything to her and she charged me a 1/2 hr labor to set up. Alot of my guests took the centerpieces home so I didn't have to worry about shipping them home. I have one set up without water in my curio cabinent with other things from our wedding day.

Hi Katie,

Thank you for the information. Judging from your pictures and Emily's gallery she does fantastic work!! Our colors are red and ivory and I think the rose petals will be beautiful for a Christmas theme!! My dilemma is that since I am an Intimate, just how much floral should we do?? We are planning on dining at the Yachtsman Steakhouse afterwards and I wonder if they will allow Emily to bring in our flowers as a centerpeice? I would hate to see the flowers go to waste after the ceremony!!

I thought the rose petals are a beautiful touch and the tulle is so romantic as it sways in the breeze. I am wondering if we rented chair covers if they would fit over the plastic chairs or not? I will definitely be e-mailing Emily after this!! :cheer2:

If you don't mind, would you mind sharing approximately what your budget was for floral/decoration at SBP? I have no clue how things price out. Please feel free to PM me if you would rather!! I am so excited!!

Thanks again!!

PS Did Emily also decorate your venue for the Dessert party? I was not sure since she is not Disney whether it is allowed.

Red & Ivory would be beautiful for a Christmas theme. The amount of floral you do would depend on your budget. She can work with anything. I am not sure if you could transfer items since you are intimate but let Emily know that and she will figure out something.

The petals defn added a romantic touch to my ceremony. I did not like any of the aisle runners and with my luck iI would have tripped. Chair covers would fit and I believe Emily could supply those for you.

If you pm me your email address I would be glad to send you my quote.

Thanks again!!

No she did not. We provided a few candles for the tables but really you don't need anything. I believe Disney would have to provide the floral since it takes place in EPCOT.

Hope I helped! ~Katie

KT27- thanks for all the info..I was also considering an outside vendor for floral decorations. I have a question, does Disney charge a fee for using an outside for decorating or are there any limitations?
Thanks for all the advice
ps. I love your cake!!!

Katie, thanks for sharing all the info and beautiful pics! I am thinking of using Emily too.

I was told at my planning session there would be a fee for outside photography & floral but on my BEO I was never charged. I guess it depends on who does your BEO because I have heard prior brides being charged. I honestly do not remember the amount. There were no limitations as far as I knew except if you had a dessert party or an in park reception or ceremony. Then Disney would have to provide floral. Emily at Charming Events has done alot of weddings and works very well with DFTW.

No problem...I'm glad to help. My dh is deployed to Iraq so thinking, talking, remebering my wedding day is helping me get through some pretty tough days. I just answered your PM!

On the same note. Has anyone ever used Emily at the Wedding Pavilion or the Boardwalk ballroom??

Just FYI, I was told by Emily today that there is a 25 hundred dollar minimum for Charming Events to do floral. She seems really nice, and if you are having a big enough wedding, a 2500.00 minimum is probably not hard to hit, but for those of us with intimates--it might be a bit much.

There are other florists in Orlando, but I am sure they are all going to have some sort of minimums.
