has anyone used DU and not got code...

I am going to WDW for 2 weeks next May and am buying annual passes as it works out cheaper...am nervous about trying to get the codes being as I will have to get up at 4am every day to watch for them. Have read good things about DU, but am one of those people who has trouble letting go/would be worried I should be trying rather than relying on someone else. Has anyone used them, booked ahead of code release of course, not after, and not been able to apply codes? Seems to be all success stories I have read...which would be great! Thanks in advance...

On my last trip I initially booked a room at POFQ. When the room-only codes were released, DU wasn't able to get me a discounted room there ... however, they were able to get me a discounted room at AKL which worked out to the same price I was paying at POFQ. I guess I could have asked my agent to keep trying but I was happy to stay at AKL

We've used DU several times now and they have always gotten us the cheapest rate. We now own at BWV (dvc) so don't get to use them as much as I would like. But, I usually add on a few nights at a different resort just to check it out and I use DU to book those nights. I do feel badly that it isn't for a longer stay tho!

Our DU person has not gotten us a code yet, but I know she is trying. Apparently the marathon is interfering with availability. I really hope we get it because we have three rooms for seven days - anything helps!! At least we have rooms, though!

We've used DU a couple of times and been very pleased!

DU always works for us. It's nice to not have to panic and check the boards everyday in fear that I'll miss the day that codes come out.

I was wondering the same thing. I currently have a reservation, but was thinking about switching to DU.

I have a hard time letting go also, but I think I will give them a try.

The more I read post after post from people who waited forever on hold to get their codes the other day, the happier I was that I'd used DU. Tammy had already gotten me the new rate (in an upgraded room) and emailed me her good news. I thought I'd have a hard time letting go, but now I'm sold!

This is my second trip with DU, and both times have gotten discounted rooms when the codes came out! I'm on the west coast right now, so it would have been near impossible for me to keep up...(a few days of waking up at 4am to call WDW would have killed me).

Highly recommend DU!!!

Thanks for the replies - I am with you, Caribbeanme, getting up at 4 am every day to watch for the codes would do me in. I sent in a request for a quote and am already saving money as they can get the AA rate for the first week of my trip (poly) when Disney has been telling me for past 2 mos that it is not available!

Yes, once DU did not get a code and we had to pay rack rate. It was our choice because we could have stayed somewhere else but chose to stay put. I wish I had been calling too.

I just used DU for the first time. Marla (DU agent) applied the BDP code to our reservation and we saved $615.00. I think that if the rate is out there that they will get it for you. Two of the dates I wanted were in a black out period but she still got them. I think that it is best to be flexible with your dates and even your hotel choices. We gave her our top three hotels and a choice of two different weeks to make sure that we would get a discount. She was able to get of first choice. After she booked our room I asked her if she could get a rate for us to upgrade our room . she checked and said that courtyard was not availible. The next day she told me that she got the courtyard after all. She kept checking just as I would if I had done it myself. The people at DU really want to please their clients and so far I am thrilled by their service. Go for it.

I am also using DU for this trip.

When we first made our ressies with DU it was for a DM silver package at POP in Dec. but also asked to be considered for an upgrade to either a moderate or deluxe if a code came out

Carole has been great and was able to offer me either POP at the $49 rate or AKL at $121.

Needless to say, we took AKL.

Now that I now own a Florida house, we will be needing DU less now, but if we decide to stay onsite again, DU will be my first email.
