DH and I are considering using David's Vacation Club Rentals to book a few days at the Food and Wine fest, but we're a little hesitant because we don't know anyone who has used them before. They are BBB accredited and have all sorts of positive reviews on their site, but just wondering if anyone could let me know about their first hand account. Thanks in advance :cool1:

We used David's VCR the very first time we rented DVC points and he was very helpful and reliable.

I helped my neighbor rent from David's. They had a very positive experience and I recommend them to anyone looking to rent.

If you search here on the DIS you will find many happy customers.

I will caution you that availability for dates during the Food & Wine fest is limited and you should contact David now versus waiting any longer.

Good luck.

Thanks so much! This trip was a last minute descision (well, last minute for us :rolleyes1) so I will have to get on it!

Of course, it will depend on your dates, but I was looking for DVC studios and 1 BRs for the 3rd and 4th weeks of October today and couldn't find anything open except for some random nights at SSR. Fall dates and early December dates book up very fast (11 months out) for most of the DVC resorts.

I have rented off of disboards rental board multiple times... cheaper than David's.

You are going to have a very hard time finding anything available for October with DVC points. I booked exactly seven months out and couldn't get seven nights together at the resort I wanted.

Thanks for the advice everyone... we know it's last minute but figure there's not any harm in trying. If not we will probably go with a moderate :wizard:

We have rented points from another rental service, cheaper than David's. My sister has rented points from the boards many times. Much cheaper than any service out there.

Good luck finding availability! I wanted to add 3 nights to our stay and couldn't get 3 nights in a row anywhere! Having to move 3 times in 4 nights didn't sound like much of a vacation to me, so we ended up renting at WBC for the first 3 nights before we check into our AKL-DVC rental.

As others have indicated, DVC during F&W is VERY difficult. We rented from someone on the DIS boards during F&W last October 2011 and had a split stay at AKL and BC in a studio the day the 7 mth window became open.

I would suggest looking at the Swan and Dolphin. Although not WDW owned or operated, they are walking distance to Epcot and are very nice and reasonable priced, IMHO.

We used David's in March 2011 to stay in a 2 bedroom villa at BCV. We had a great experience with them and a great trip overall :) I had planned to use them again to rent points at BLT this October, but I could not get our exact dates nailed down early enough & BLT was already booked up  I wouldn't hesitate to use David's in the future if I'm ever able to book 11 months in advance again.
