Has anyone used David to rent out their points?

Do you have to claim the money made through the rental as income for tax purposes?

I have yet to rent through David, but my parents are in the process of listing their points and so far, things have gone smoothly. Everything has been above board and very easy to understand.

As a PP questioned, why not use the services if you are still able to get the $10 per point.

you do need to be patient and give yourself atleast 6-8 months. i did have about 50 points expiring 2010 use year that could not be transferred and had to rent them out myself. i knew i wouldn't be using 2011 use year so listed with david and eventually had all rented. i would say if your points are expiring then you would have better chance renting them out yourself

Somebody, a few posts back, brought up these topics regarding the owner's responsibility/liability. That would be my concern whether renting on my own or through David's service. Does anybody have any information regarding these concerns? I'm thinking of renting points for an ABD trip next year, but would never do it on my own, unless I personally knew the renters, because of such problems that occasionally arise.

Like others have said on this thread and others, that the reservation is yours. What happens on that reservation is your responsibility. If DVC can't get paid by the person you allowed to stay on the reservation, they will come to you for payment.

How does the transaction come through paypal??? ie....do you pay paypals 3% on top of the 3 dollar per point to David?

I was looked at Dave's previously. Anyone have any information on the other side of the renting process through him.
