In my quest to find reasonable flights, my mom's friend told her she has used cheapoair.com for decent prices. I looked, and they would save me a few hundred dollars, but cheapoair? Is it legit? Just sounds WRONG! :rotfl2:

I have heard that using one of those places (Priceline etc..) is great until you have a problem and then you are up the creek. Any opinions?

I just went on the website and it looks like how travelocity or another one of those sites would look.

I put in my air for DR for July and it was the same with the carrier CO.

So, you are saying that you put in your information and your carrier came up and it was a couple of hundred dollars less? THAT IS GREAT!
But, I would first go back to the carrier's website and put in your dates/times and see if you get the air the same price (which is what usually happens).

I too prefer to buy directly from the airline in case I have any problems, want to change but I also have never found any other sites that actually are less money than doing it myself online.

Please let me know. I'm interested in finding out.

Thanks.

Some of my family just booked using Cheapo Air. I didn't think it was a great buy at all plus it's not nonstop which should've made it even cheaper imo. I'll ask them how it goes. They're flying next week.

My daughter and her workmate used Cheapoair to return to Egypt last year after the revolution. (they teach there). No issues whatsoever. Since she was putting it on my credit card, I had to call in, and customer service was fine.

I would not have a problem buying from them per se, but I have never found any flight I wanted cheaper on there.
I have found that they look a lot cheaper because they don't add in any fees and taxes, but then when you actually go to book and that gets added in the cost goes up dramatically

I actually found a decent fare going through AAA, so I think I may snag that. Thanks for the opinions, but I feel a tad safer with AAA than Cheapo! :goodvibes

Actually if you act like you are going to purchase the tickets and start the checkout process you will find that there are added fees that make it the same price or sometimes more then booking direct with the airline.

*sorry if this is repeated, I did not read the entire thread

Well, I wound up going with USAirways. United wouldn't let me book my parents on the same outbound flight, even though we were leaving the same time, just because they were coming back a different day. Weird. Didn't know there were that many United flights leaving BDL at the same time :confused3

USAirways actually had better departure times and were straight flights for only a couple dollars more, and we're all on the same flight down. Now it's just fun stuff....shopping for fancy dresses for the wedding!
