Has anyone used a roll-a-way?

I am curious if anyone has used a roll-a-way? Was it reasonably comfortable? How well did it fit in the room? Would we better off getting a room with a sofa sleeper? This would be for an adult or teen, not a small child. We're flexible on which hotel and qualify for a Florida discount. Thanks!

We did a roll-away in a King room 3 years ago at RPR.

We were only there one night to get the FOTL.

We checked in in the evening and asked for a Loews First upgrade to Club Level. They only had a King available, but we figured it was worth it to get a free breakfast in the morning. Our 3yo slept in the King with my DH and me and my 9yo was on the roll-away between the King and the wall. It was fine for one night.

I probably should have mentioned we will need it in a room with 2 queens. The layout of a standard room at RPR with 2 queens looks too crowded for a rollaway. There are no RPR club rooms available.

Our other options are standard room at HRH with 2 queens and a rollaway, standard room at PB with 2 queens and a rollaway, or 2 queens and a sofa sleeper at PB. Of those three, the standard room plus rollaway at PB is cheapest, then HRH, then the larger room with sofa sleeper. The total price difference between those three is about $45.

I was looking at some pictures in the Portofino sticky, and it looks like the "sofa sleeper" is more of a chair that opens up to a twin size bed rather than a double sofa sleeper. I only need to put one person in there, but it doesn't look like it would be any bigger than a rollaway. Anybody know?

We stay at the HRH each year and you would be extremely cramped with a roll-away. You would have to put it by the door to the room and that would basically make it impossible for anyone to get into the bathroom at night. Not sure about PBH. We have just gotten to the point that we use our AAA discount and get two rooms at the HRH.

We are just back from HRH and were able to easily fit a twin blow-up mattress between the one queen bed and the window. We had to move the chair and ottoman to do so. Maybe the rollaway would fit there as well. Everyone was able to easily access the bathroom with this arrangement.

We got a roll away in our room at the RPR last October. It fit nicely between the wall and the bed. My DS (4) slept on it for 7 nights without a complaint!!! I didn't find that it took up any space for our standard room. We had 3 adults and 2 children under the age of 5.
Hope this helps :goodvibes

When we stayed at the hard rock we got the deluxe queen for the sleeper sofa since we are a family of 5.The sofa bed was alful.my 8 year old did not want to sleep on it it was so worn out.i asked for lots of blankets to put on top.i would bring a blow up bed.

Thanks to all who replied. Here is our rather unusual decision: We have a booked the cheapest room we could find during our stay, which we have no intention of staying in. We may use it to rest during the day, or go for a swim, but we will return to the house we decided to rent to sleep. This was the cheapest way we could find to get FOTL passes, and still have everyone get a good night's sleep.
