Has anyone upgraded ticket since the new tiered prices?

Ok.. I hope I can explain this so that it makes sense.
We have 3 Disney trips planned this year starting in December & ending next December. I purchased 2, 10 day hopper passes before the increase for $1,107.60 including tax with the intention of upgrading them to annual passes when we are there in December.
The way it use to work was you got credit for the currant gate price for your tickets when you upgraded. Does anyone know if this still works?
As far as I know there is not a place on Disney's website to get just the ticket price for the week that you want so I made a dummy reservation with hotel and ticket prices and subtracted the difference.
The total with this method is $1,175 or a difference of $68.

They haven’t given credit for “gate price” for at least a couple of years. You’ll receive credit for the value of your ticket based on the date it was minted. If you bought the 10-day hoppers between Feb. and Oct. 2018, you’ll receive credit for the value as of the ticket change last month. There is a link to look that up in the “Ticket Sticky” from the TPAS forum.
If you purchased the 10-day hopper longer ago, the credit value will be less. Again links are in the Ticket Sticky.
