I have never been to Universal and am going to WDW in July. My mother, who is 79 yo, wants to try it out. She is in a wheelchair. Is it worth it for us to go to?? I don't do rollercoasters. Is there enough to do and see for the both of us??
My mother went when she was 70. She really liked everything in US, with the exception of The Mummy (she rode it once and that was enough for her). In IOA she did everything except for Dueling Dragons, Flying Unicorn, Dr. Doom and Hulk. She only did Dudley Do Right once, but she did do it. She loved Popeye, Jurassic Park, Spiderman and the Sinbad show. She also had a great time with my niece (who was 3.5 at the time) in Suess' Landing.
My oldest kid marched in one of the parades there back in 97 so we took grandma & grandpa with us, they were in there 60's at the time. towards the end we needed to put dad in a wheelchair cause he was tiring easily. Needless to say we got in & out of the attractions quicker. But they both enjoyed the attractions & rides, I think the one ride that freaked them out was Back to the future & while on a day trip to Disney we snuck them on Space Mountain...yeh that was a good one...they wouldn't go on it again but did everything else pretty much.
I believe there will be plenty enough to do, It'll make for a nice memory.
Keep in mind July in a wheelchair, I speak from experiance, is going to be crowded & HOT! I broke my toe & went to Disney one day in July had to be in the wheelchair & I swore...never again. Good luck
She may enjoy some of the lesser attractions like the Tribute to Lucy which has trivia and articles from the I Love Lucy show. Also just browsing the street scene store windows with old products and old prices. Many of the attractions have stationary seating so she doesn't get bounced around too much. I'd skip the Mummy because of the sudden stops on the coaster which can aggravate back issues.
they had fun!
they werent able to go on everything but they did enjoy it!
sometimes its just fun to people watch!
i think if she wants to go then you should be good!
