Ive just filled out an online form to switch my gas from British Gas over to Powergen. It works out slightly cheaper for me as i will now get a dual fuel discount and i will get all those extra clubcard points :goodvibes

I just wondered if there was anything else i had to do? Ive never switched before so not sure whats involved? Ive given powergen all jy details for my gas meter, and it just said they would contact me if needed?

Seems a bit too easy?

I know im in credit on my gas bill by about £110, i assume they will just credit this back to me? :goodvibes

I just switched to edf, just did it on uswitch, edf sent the details and theres nothing else for me to do

easy isnt it lol

We used USwitch to switch from British Gas/Powergen a couple of years ago to Atlantic. So far they have been very good and we even got a months direct debit refunded after a year for staying with them :)

Switching was very easy and I would advise anyone to check on USwitch to see if they can find a cheaper supplier :)

I don't think there is anything else for you to do, my dad has switched quite a few times with no problem. You should get a cheque/rebate for the amount you are in credit with them.

I hope it goes ok for you, I tried to switch from British Gas (who are the worst company I have ever had to deal with in my life, their incompetence and bad customer service knows no bounds as far as i'm concerned) to Powergen in March this year and the swap only happened last month. They kept sending bills saying I owed them money when I was in credit, they would make stuff up when I called, it was outrageous.

I had to get Energywatch involved quite heavily but the problem was that there were probably thousands of people like me having trouble leaving British Gas and it took forever to get it sorted out.

I wouldn't go back to British Gas if they were the only provider in the UK, i'd leave the country or use candles and my fireplace!
:thumbsup2

Powergen are great, have been with them before and have never had problems (was an idiot to swap over anyway). Plus you get Tesco Clubcard points which you can redeem for Airmiles and other great things that get you closer to Disney!! ;)
