Has anyone stayed in Acadia Estates

My family and I are planning our first trip to WDW. There will be 11 of us so we are thinking of a vacation home in Acadia. Is Acadia far from the parks? Is this a nice gated community with amenities? Sorry for being so clueless.

We just returned from a stay in nearby Rolling Hills. Both neighborhoods are very nice, although I don't recall that Arcadia was gated. Rolling Hills wasn't and we never felt it needed to be.

You are going to love the location. You are literally just minutes from WDW, the closest park being the Animal Kingdom. We could see and hear fireworks at night.

Please let me know how you liked your stay. I'm creating a list of pool homes/condos recommended by DIS'ers. I think many people here will find it helpful. Have a geat trip!

We stayed at Acadia Estates last May. It's directly opposite Formosa Gardens (where we've stayed many times - check my signature ) which is as close to WDW as you'll get offsite. It is gated, but, in my experience, the gates are usually open (and that applies to all such communities). There are no amenities on this community, but do you really need them?

Who are you thinking of booking with? As far as I'm aware, most of the properties on Arcadia Estates are managed through All Star Vacations. We booked directly with the owner of one of only a couple of properties (ex-model home) not managed by them, at half the cost.
