This will be our first trip to Universal,:yay:, so it is all new to us.

I am trying to decide on what resort to stay at.
I have checked all the threads on here, trip advisor, as well as Universal's site but the more I read the more confused I'm getting. It's getting overwhelming.
Each resort seems to have something that would be good for us.
The one thing I'm not concerned with are the restaurants. I'm not basing my resort choice on them.

There are 5 of us (myself, DH, DD(16) DD(turning 15 while there), and DGD(6). We are planning our trip for Sept. 4th (arriving late) and leaving on the 9th. I won a Superbowl ticket, so I am eligible for the Super hero rate. That and the military ticket deals are making this trip possible for us.

My DH wants to stay club level as he figures getting the continental breakfast and other goodies throughout the day will save us a little money.

What resort offers the best club level food, or do they all serve the same things? Have I read correctly that Portofino CL offers more "meals" (for lack of a better term) throughout the day?

Do all of Portofino's club level rooms have some sort of balcony?

What resort offers the most to do at night, especially for kids (including teens)?

Views? Do the CL rooms offer better views? Do the resorts typically give out better views when staying CL or is it by chance?

Any suggestions for what rooms to ask for at each resort? I'd prefer not to have to be looking out onto a parking lot or a street.

Overall, what resort do you like better?

Has anyone been Labor Day weekend? Do the resorts and parks do anything special that weekend?

Thank you and I appreciate any help I can get! :flower3:

Hi a lot of questions there. We have been all three and there are pros and cons to all three.
Firstly found the room at PBH was by far the largest for us as a party of 5. We had a deluxe with a pull out sofa already in the room and the bathroom was the best as it had a separate shower and tub. great when we have 3 young children. However down side was club level was no where near the room and not even on the same floor so not too convenient. We had a great view over the other pool. No not all have balconies. Seem to remember this club had a pool table or similar.
HRH has the smallest club room but it is on the same floor as bedroom so kids were quite safe going back and forth to get drinks. Didn't notice that much of a difference between the food served at the other hotels but we did tend to think RPR was slightly ahead. Think all 3 hotels do a dive in movie not that we did it. As we had young children entertainment wasn't really an issue. We snacked and had a beer during happy hour and headed out to Citywalk. Stayed here twice and got a great view both times.
Royal Pacific has a much better set up and larger club room than HRH. It is also on same floor. Room we got was def not as nice as the other 2 we had.
Staff at club here were the best . Really friendly. Breakfast was slightly different to HRH and PBH and was probably the best. Didn't notice much difference with the rest of the food or drink.

We find it difficult to pick which was our favourite as we loved the bedroom at Portofino. However we loved the Hard Rock hotel the best for atmosphere and the Royal Pacific club level was the best. Kids loved the pool at Portofino best then the Hard Rock with the music under the water. They loved the costumes etc that are around the HRH and on each floor and although they didn't know much they enjoyed the music.

You can always ask for a change of room to one with a better view if you don't like it they will oblige if they have one available.

Guess at the end of the day it is what suits you best. It suits us best to have club on same floor. It wouldn't matter which one you choose you will enjoy it as all three hotels are fantastic .
