If so, where is it...What are the units like...Did you like it???

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

We stayed there in January of this year and it is a very nice place! It is very near the Premier Outlet Mall on International Drive. It's about a 10 minute drive to DisneyWorld and about the same to Sea World. We were in a 2 bedroom on the 3rd floor right on the lake that is on the property. There was a whirlpool tub in the master bedroom with it's own bathroom and shower stall. There was also a balcony in the master bedroom and also a bigger one off of the living room. The pool is an indoor/outdoor type and the water was very warm. There was some construction going on, so try and get away from that. I think we were in building #1, which would be a good choice. If you have any questions, feel free to ask away.

Thanks for the input. We were going to stay at the Holiday Inn DTD (got the $1.18 a night :cool1: ) but it looks like it won't be ready in time...

So if they give us a chance to move the reservation to next year, we will take that and get a condo through Skyauction and the Fountains is coming up lately.

If we do get a chance to book it, I will have lots of questions.

this resort used to be oasis lakes and was owned by british interests

it was taken over by "bluegreen" if i am not mistaken

it is just across the street from vistana villages

at the time we were there they only had two buildings, but we noticed when we were there in may it had expanded to about 6 buidlings

seems that there are not as many 2 bedrooms listed on Skyauction now, they seem to have split them all into 1 bedroom units ( better for their bottom line )

I was going to post some info, but lawgs beat me to it! (Yes, it is now a BlueGreen property). I would just add that with the new buildings (they are expanding the property quite a bit), the new units may or may not be as described above. The new buildings appear to be larger (meaning having more units, not necessarily larger units) than the original buildings.
I would also add that the location is excellent for an off-site resort. You can tell by it's neighbors: Sheraton Vistana Villages across the street, Hilton Grand Vacations a little toward the Disney side, and Marriott Grande Vista a little toward the SeaWorld side. Also nearby are another Hilton Grand Vacations resort, and two Marriott timeshare resorts, and a WorldMark/CrownPlaza resort.

We have booked this through skyauction.com (with airfare) for our Sept. trip. It appears to be a nice property but it is good to hear from someone who has stayed there. Thank you.

Hi! This is my 1st post on the dis!

My family stayed at the Fountains this May for 10 days and LOVED it! We had a 2 bedroom in the newest building (opened in Feb) #5. It was the last building on the lake side. The only differece in these units and the original units it that they are a bit smaller and they don't have a balcony off the master bedroom but they do still have the one off the living area. You can't beat the location. The drive to Disney is SUPER easy and it's so close to Seaworld that you can see their fireworks from your balcony at night!!!

The pool and deck area is beautiful and the activities staff is really fun. While we were there they had a dive in movie night, karoake party, volleyball tournament, bonefire complete with s'mores and a memorial day bbq by the pool. The BBQ was the best meal VALUE we had all 10 days. $10 for adults $6 for kids. WOW

There are paddle boats at the lake and they have lots for every age to do. There is a teen room with video games and there is a small gated play area for the little tots. Poolside, there are 2 jacuzzis(one inside-one out) and a pooltable and ping-pong table and these were free to use. Concierge staff was SUPER. They got a last minute bday cake for my honey!

This is one of the most relaxing (as if an orlando vacation can be that)resort we have ever visited. Not much road noise at night and they have quite hours I think from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. They do have construction going on right now but this was not an issue as they only work during the day when you are at the park and not on weekends.

The landscape is tropical and you feel a million miles away from all the hustle of town. My family has decided this is the only place we want to stay when we come to Orlando since we like Disney and Universal and is about equal distance to each. It's on SOUTH Int. Drive and it's not overly congested.

We actually bought a timeshare there last year but this was our 1st time to stay on site. They won't bug you about touring. They called once and left a message about doing an update tour and I simply told them that we were happy with the time we had and they didn't bug us after that as I have been told some timeshares tend to do.

I would be glad to answer any questions you might have! I hope I didn't ramble too much here!!!

So nice of you to use your first post to answer me...

Welcome to the DIS!!!

Thanks for the info...Sounds great. If I think of any more questions I will ask away. :wave2:

I'm a Bluegreen owner but have never stayed at Fountains, we stayed at Sunshine in 98. According to my info all units are 2 bedrooms that sleep 8 (oops there's a note in the fine print that some units sleep 6). I'm remembering when I asked about this a few years ago (Sunshine II was building those same units) there's 2 bedrooms, a couchbed and a bed that folds out of the wall to make room for 8. The website says Buildings 6 and 7 will be under construction until 2/28/06. You can get more info at bluegreenonline.com, don't need to be a member to check out the resort info.
