Has Anyone Stayed at Seralago?

A friend of mine is going to WDW for the first time and really wants to go as cheaply as possible. They found a deal online for the Seralago Hotel at $41 per night, plus when you buy a 3 day Disney ticket you get 4 days free... so it comes out to be about $1200 for 7 nights hotel including 7 day park tickets for 2 adults and 1 child. I'm trying to convince them to stay onsite because it's so much more convenient with the transportation than having to rely on specific shuttle times as well as having to arrange separate transportation to and from the airport. Unfortunately Disney can't compete with such cheap rooms, even at the Value resorts. If you've stayed at Seralago, how is it?

I stayed at the Seralago in August '09, and we had a nice stay. It perfectly suited our needs of needing a clean, comfortable room to house our belongings while we spent our days out and about and a place to come and sleep in. It's not luxury, but it's cheap and clean and easy to get to. The pool was nice as well - we had a great time there. The staff is friendly. It's sort of motel-style meaning that the room entries are outside. We were on the first floor and were able to park right outside our room each night, and I thought that was really convenient. Some ppl might be bothered by that though - it all depends on what you like. There was not much noise outside to disturb our sleep. Also, they offer breakfast - at that time, we paid an extra $13/night and that included breakfast for 2 adults and our 2 kids ate free - so, that $13 covered breakfast for the 4 of us each day. Breakfast is not fancy, but it's a buffet and you can fill your belly each morning before heading out. We had our own car, so we used that to transport back & forth to the parks - which is only a few mins drive away.

When reading the reviews you do need to distingush what are legit complaints VS people that are either too picky or that expected a 5 star resort for $50 a night.

I remember reading about the Seralago once before and the opinions were very negative.

I would seriously question the deal on the park tickets though. The authorized ticket sellers aren't offering that deal. What's the fine print?

We stayed there is july 09 (me, wife,3 small boys) and loved it!!! the family room setup was perfect for us as with the boys get their own beds and is kinda blocked off from us... they had their own TV with an xbox to play games (desk rents games) the pool was really nice, cleaning staff friendly onsite coin laundry (great with the boys and staying for 2 weeks) lots of dining around not too far to drive to get to all parks. I would recommend it as the prices are really good compared to other resorts around...

wow $41 a night...mind sharing what site that's on?? I'm trying to maybe plan a quick, short spontaneous trip for us!
