Has anyone stayed at Royal Reef Resort in Caymans?

We are staying at the Royal Reef Resort in Grand Cayman this summer through the interval world exchange. Has anyone stayed there and can you pass on the 411. I have a lot of questions. Here's a few: Did you rent a car? How much for the rental car? Is there a grocery store close by? Is the water calm or rough at the resort? What was you favorite and least favorite : restaurant, excursion, activity, etc. Thanks

Hey Jerseygril....I have a question for you....just wondering how much you paid for airfare, if you dont mind answering. I keep thinking that doing some of the II exchanges out of the country would be great, but am leery at what the airfare would cost

mbw12 Hey! Where in Jersey do you live? I can't give much info on airfares since my husband had his private pilots license and he flies us on all of our vacations. We need to get a special permit or something like it to fly over Cuba. Sorry that I couldn't help out a fellow Jerseyian out. Or is it Jerseyite???

The resort is isolated on the East end of the Island maybe 20 plus miles from the activity (45 min). Not much for groceries or restaurants in the area but much quieter. You will need a car. I can put you in touch with the manager there is you like. There is also a lot of info and people knowledgeable about this resort on TUG. You should also know that there is an extra utility charge if you don't already, it's in the range of about $275 for a week in a 2 BR if I recall recent discussions on TUG correctly.
