Has anyone here sold their points and how did it work out for you? I'm nervous about getting involved with a time share reseller as we had a really bad experience with a company that was going to sell out non-Disney resort. They took money up front and never did anything. I know the Timeshare store sponsors this forum, has anyone used them?

We are in the process of selling right now. We used TTS and they have been great sold our AKV points in about 3 weeks. :)

We just completed a sale with the TSS and it went wonderfully. I did not have to put up any money with them and my contract (a small one) sold within a few days back in April.

I had a delayed closing because we had a trip planned using the membership, but it closed the day after we completed our vacation (August 13th) and I received my proceeds check on August 20th, only one week later.

Sold two contracts with The Timeshare Store and both sold quickly (3 hours and 3 days). Very efficient organization.

For anyone who has sold a contract, how much did you pay in fees to the broker? Was it a set amount or a percentage?

We've had 3 transactions with the The Timeshare Store, 1 purchase and 2 sales. All went very smoothly with great communication as to what the status was at all times.

Both the Timeshare Store and DVC by Resale are 1st class operations. Shontell from DVC by Resale used to work at Timeshare Store before going out on her own. I sold 3 contracts with her and have bought 2 from her (during her Timeshare Store days and DVC by Resale).

My selling experience - I sold 3 Vero contracts (160 points total) for more than I paid for them after using them for 10 years. Can't beat that! I turned around and became a founding member at AKV with 150 points (adding some cash to the transaction).

Stay away from all up front fee companies for selling. SOME are legit to buy from but only a couple. MOST are simply scams. The one's mentioned, plus a couple of others are very good and reputable.

We went through Jaki and **** Apetz for our purchase. Everything went extremely smooth. There were no upfront fees or unusual financial issues.Jaki kept in touch with us weekly which relieved any fears we had. The only time I got a little concerned was when the title company did not respond with a confirmation when we sent our money but other than that we had no worries.

This is great advice and please pass this on to all your friends/family/enemies/etc. In my opinion you want to list your timeshare with a company that gets paid a commission at the time of closing.

The Timeshare Store, Inc.® would appreciate the opportunity to sell your Disney Vacation Club points. Feel free to email us at sales@dvcstore.com and we will provide listing information.

Thanks,
Jason

Jason was one of the representatives I worked with at TSS a year and a half ago when I sold some of my points.

I can't say enough about how smoothly the entire process went for all three contracts I sold and the professionalism of all involved.

We needed to sell a small contract (70 points) about 3 years ago and used The Timeshare Store. Got our asking price quick.

How long does this process typically take?
I am considering selling our points, we have 3 small contracts for Beach Club. No points left for 2010...
Thanks.

It depends. Small contracts go faster than larger ones. I put up a small (50)VWL contract and had an offer within 24 hours.

BCV is a popular resort and small contracts are hard to come by so I would imagine that there will be interest.
