I was just wondering if anyone has seen the new fireworks show yet? Is it a good show, better or same as the old one or what?

Thanks

I did! I saw it last Saturday (which I believe was the first show), and I thought it was great! I liked it a lot better than the old one. The music was from more recent Disney movies like Lion King, Little Mermaid, and Pocahontas, and it seemed more like an actual show than just fireworks. Oh, and Tinkerbell still makes an appearance!

People were gathering around the front of the castle over an hour before the show started, so it was pretty crowded. We watched from near the central hub area, but I kind of wonder how the show looks from other places in the park. There were some low fireworks that probably wouldn't show up if you weren't near the castle.

Hope you get to see it!

:D

Thanks for the review. We will be there July 25 - 29. I am sure we will see it a couple of times

By the "old one" are you referring to "Believe"? Having seen it, I noticed most of the music from that show was from recent Disney movies also.

I haven't seen the new show myself yet, but I have been hearing good things about it. It sounds like most people like it, and some even like it better than "Believe"
If you've seen WDW Fantasy in the Sky, you'll be familiar with some of the music, since parts of it are used in this show.

I have never saw Believe and was looking to seeing it. The WDW Fantasy in the Sky was one of the poorer of Disney's firework shows. The new Wishes fireworks at WDW is outstanding.

I took my first trip in 20 years to Disneyland this past June to preview it before the 50th celebration when we will come back to DL again. Anyway, the show is an interim show because new regulations in California over pollution of the fireworks has been very hard on Disneyland and required them to change what they call their launchers to a new more improved and less polluting one. They had no real plans to change this show but supposedly Believe wasn't working well with these new launchers. This is what I understand.

The show only lasts eleven minutes. I'm sure for those who have seen Believe too many times to mention any new show would seem better. In reality, I was looking forward to seeing the old show. There are some rumors they will try to bring back the old show if they can make it work better with the new launchers.

Wishes is probably the best FW show Disney has done to date; so, don't expect this Imagine-Fantasy in the Sky show to match it. I still like any fireworks show; so, it still gets my vote. There will be a new one for the 50th and my understanding of it is that it will be more creative and use the 360 degree fireworks concept which everyone loves.

I just saw Imagine tonight and I was dissapointed. It was shorter and didn't have anywhere near the number of fireworks (at least to me) as Believe. I loved Believe and saw it many times, and I still thought it was better than Imagine. I did like the music in the first part from all the different movies, but I didn't feel the fireworks went well with the music. I felt the first song wasn't up beat enough and you kind of just stood there and waited for the next fire work to finally go off. I thought the best part was the ending.

I just saw the new fireworks show on Friday night. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was well done. Honestly I can't really remember the old one to compare it too (even though I have seen it quite a few times before). I liked it and Im sure anyone who enjoyed the previous show would like it too. Who doesn't like a good firework show right?

Thanks all, it seems that most think the new show is good, not as good as Believe, which I have not seen, and not as bad as most feared. I read a review on a site for Disneyland and that was the basic review also. The new show is short and good, just not thier best. I have only seen the WDW shows and thier Fantasy in The sky was decent but got old after a few times seeing it. The new fireworks at the MK at WDW is one of Disney's best. That one finally beat the one I saw many years ago at the Disney/MGM studios when they had classical music and it was nararted by Vincent Price. I was afraid they were going to do thier lets do it the cheapest way and lie to everyone it is other problems. Disney has a habit of doing that in the last few years. We are getting very excited about our trip next month. Thanks again all for your replies.

Is the fireworks show every night? Does anyone know if you can see it from the Grand Californian if you have a theme park view room?

I haven't checked the schedule yet, so not sure if it's every night - however, if you're staying in a theme park view room at the GC, you'll be looking out over California Adventure, and there are no fireworks there.

We are going from July 25 - 29 and it is every night then. I am not sure when it starts that though.

We were just there last week and our friends stayed at the GC with a theme park room. They watched the fireworks from their balcony. They said they could even see Tinkerbell. We stayed at the Paradise Pier Hotel and watched the fireworks from the pool deck. They even piped in the music. We really enjoyed the new show.

The fireworks are every night this week. I saw them last night and will likely see them again tomorrow assuming my nephew 4 makes it that long. I'm a huge Believe fan and will miss that show greatly and I was really skeptical that the new show would be a good enough replacement. I was impressed, though. I don't like it as much as I do Believe at this point, but it was still pretty good. I saw Wishes at WDW and I think this new one is slightly better than Wishes, though I still prefer Believe--which I think is the BEST fireworks show Disney has ever done. Still, no one does fireworks like Disney. One thing I did notice--some of the fireworks sequences were very similar to some in Believe.
