We're trying to decide if we should bring our own carseat or rent one from Alamo. If you have used one...was it in good condition? Was it a decent brand?
Thanks!
We rented a carseat from alamo last april, it was a cheap carseat i think a Century with only a 3 point harness but it was brand new. We actually had to rip the tags off it ourselves! Did the trick and there were other car seats as well to choose from. My ds was only 10mths at the time so the 3 point harness wasn't as important as it would be now that he's a toddler(little stinker could probably undo it himself ) HTH, Jen
It has been a while but IIRC Alamo charges $8.00 per day and won't guarantee that an appropriate CSR will be available when you arrive,
We have rented carseats 2x with our car rental, the first time it was fine but the second time the carseat was worn and dirty, that was the last time we rented a carseat.
If your child is still in the CSR with a harness (under 40lbs) and the CSR is approved with an FAA sticker then you can use it on the aircraft. This way the child will be comfortable and safe in the air as well as in the car.
If you are using a booster or would rather not use the CSR on the aircraft you can check it through with the luggage or check it at the gate.
I would consider brining your own for peace of mind and spend the $ elsewhere!
